John Hancock is kicking your ass

Saw this yesterday with Keith, WaM, and As7.
I actually liked it a lot. Dunno why it got such poor ratings.
Anyone else seen it? Did you also enjoy the drunk dude who beat people up?
Let's talk about it!
I am possibly seeing this tonight. It is a decision between this and Wanted.
Should I pick Hancock [y/n]
Depends on what you are in the mood for. Do you want to see an awesome action flick or do you want to se Will Smith hang around and be awesome and also fly.
I think Will Smith is always the answer, but it's up to you.
This movie gave me exactly what I wanted. Will Smith flying around, drinking, and occasionally doing feats of superheroism. It also threw a nice twist in that a lot of people just aren't going to expect (and I understand why many would hate it).
I didn't like the route the movie took after the bank scene. The ending was weak to me too.
With that said I enjoyed all of the action scenes. It had some good laughs in it as well. Especially the prison scene. Smith played a pretty good depressed drunk guy.

Seriously?
They pretty much clob you over the head with the "twist" within the first 10 minutes

Wow you must have some awesome intuition to be able to call the twist in the first 10 minutes.
This script was originally titled "Tonight, He Comes" and was about Hancock trying have an affair with the wife character while not killing prostitutes with super-jizz.
I can see people picking up that Theron had some kind of relationship will Smith before this. Both of them being some kind of immortal Gods/Angels/Aliens/? with superpowers isn't exactly apparent until it is shown. To me at least.

"I am the only one of my kind!"

They clobber you over the head with the fact that
Charlize Theron's character knows Hancock.
If I hadn't known the twist going in, I simply would have thought he had fucked her a few years back or something.

Shoulda paid more attention to the lines being said when the camera pans over to her
I understood what the French kid was saying better than the bank-robber though. I think I understood like every third word he said in the hospital sequence.
Jason Bateman's character running at a guy with a fire-ax, while the sprinklers are running, honestly seemed like something that could have happened in Arrested Development. I was thinking that the whole time. 'Way to lose your cool there, Michael.'
It should be about the revolutionary war era Hancock, fighting crime and stuff. Getting shot by Aaron Burr because he knows his weakness, malt liquor and hookers.

I hope it does well enough for there to be a sequel. There is a lot of fertile ground for them to explore with this story.
Yes and no.

Wanted is... something

I think that would have made a better movie.

Yeah, very subtle...

Hell of a totp, there.
I did enjoy the theater version but it wasn't all that I had hoped for.
On the plus side:
Will Smith WILL NOT PHONE HIS PERFORMANCES IN EVER, BITCHES.
I made a TD for iphone and windows phone!
Michelle.

I can't remember but I remember it was funny.
