[Scion DEMIGOD] Through the gates of Hades
Posts
And your sword.
But yeah, I actually think I was gonna like Ujio, dernit.
Well... I probably could pop in for a session now and then when I'm able (if that would be okay with Rainfall), but I just can't commit to every week now.
However, two weeks from now, chances are that I'll still be on a train returning from PAX.
Plutonium
Get me one of the City of Heroes police uniform codes ploz
(what time is the game tonight?)
Walker: "I've been to New York seven times, and I've almost never seen traffic this good. We should have shootouts with fake police officers more often."
Rainfall: Kande drums her fingers as she waits for her taxi to get through a particularly nasty snarl of traffic, unaware that Fate is holding her in place, waiting for the other Scions to approach. Walker raises an eyebrow as he notices his compass needle slowly twitching to the side as it rests on his dashboard.
Rainfall: And then everyone's phone rings at the same time. All four of the phones in the car, as well as the one in Kande's purse, on the exact same frequency, at the exact same moment.
***Simon pulls out his cellphone, and raises it to his ear. "Who is it this time?"
***Walker mutters under his breath, "You know, 'Herman', you should've just given me a GPS loca--" and he blinks and reaches for the pohone instinctively before realizing all the phones went off at once.
***Kande probably doesn't have the same shock of strange simultaneous rings to deal with. She mumbles as she fishes the phone from her purse. Who is calling?
***Devon ignores the buzzing device in his coat pocket, smiling through the window and scanning the streets.
Rainfall: A raspy voice sounds over the phone: "Four, moving south. In the sedan." Then the line dies.
Walker: "What the hell?" Walker stares at the phone, then frowns. "That's odd... Four.... sed... Ah hell. People, get your heads down, we're about to have company."
***Simon snaps shut his cellphone, and buckles up his seatbelt. "Keep Driving, and stay low." he remarks, reaching down for his weapon.
***Walker chooses not to bother responding, but instead focuses on the driving bit. "If someone's following us, let me know where thye're coming from."
Rainfall: Devon looks over his shoulder at the traffic behind them. He only has time to say 'OH SHIT!
Devon: OH SHIT!
***Kande takes the opportunity to roll down the window and glance around outside. That was pretty cryptic... and not very specific. She stuffs her phone back into her purse.
Rainfall: as a large black can comes out of nowheres, and promptly obliterates the passenger-side of the front seat. The car swerves wildly, and Walker scrambles to keep it under control. Kande's eyes widen, as she sees this happen all in the intersection in front of her taxy.
Rainfall: *taxi
Rainfall: *vans
Rainfall: *van
Rainfall: *fuck
***Walker jerks the wheel, whips the gears back and forth, hits the brake and gas alternately, and all throughout just spits a "Goddamit, this is my only car!"
Rainfall: The two vehicles separate with a screech of tearing metal, leaving the passenger door of Walker's car hanging loose, a smear of blood on the door and seat where Ann was sitting.
***Kande lets herself out of the taxi. Was the phonecall really even necessary, at this point? Probably, the cab driver is yelling at her. She is not concerned about cab fare. She is wondering about that fantastic, south-bound? collision.
Rainfall: Kande's eyes widen as she sees a small figure tumble to the street, the two vehicles continuing onwards.
Walker: "Damn them to Hell! Soemone tell me if they ran her over?"
***Simon reels from the force of the impact, junk and flying glass filling the air. Barely in front of him, in the front seat, the seat was completely ripped off, dangling out of where the door once stood, Ann nowhere to be seen.
Devon: "Don't think so, they swerved away hard after that hit..."
***Devon looks at the road behind them as he reaches for his gun.
***Kande had been in situations kind of like this before! It was probably uncommon for mortals. She approached the tiny figure in the street, because it seemed the thing to do (although she was wary of nearby vehicles that might do the same to herself.)
***Simon unbuckles his seatbelt, glad he had put it on at the last moment before the crash. The car was still spinning in the center of the intersection, but it didn't look like it would flip.
***Walker just focuses, hard, on keeping the car driveable, not even sparing a look at the seat next to him. "Damn it all, are these more fake rentaSWATs?"
Devon: "We'll know when they start shooting at us."
Rainfall: Devon sees the van continuing to follow them, pulling up alongside once more. The black paint is scratched to hell, but it looks relatively undamaged by the collision.
Simon: "Turn and hit the brakes!" Simon tersly yelled, holding on to the door next to him, ready to jump out to fight their assailants.
Walker: "Got it!" Walker whipped the wheel around, jerking the handbrake for just an instant, tapping the brakes, then slamming on the gas, jerking the car nearly 90* to the right as fast as he can, to let Simon leap out and be facing the van.
***Kande is kind of baffled by these events!
***Simon rips upward the door handle, and leaped out of the still-moving car, the Harpe brandished in the air, and he landed in a roll, in the path of the van.
Rainfall: Another black van pulls up in the intersection, screeching to a halt next to the prone girl from the accident. Two men in black body-armor exit from the back, quickly stopping traffic in the area.
***Kande doesn
Rainfall: The van chasing the Band swerves as Walker deftly maneuvers around it, placing itself directly in the path of Simon and his ancient, powerful blade.
Kande: *'t think that's good. She slips from her half-interested approach to a run, to see to the girl. Who are these guys?
Rainfall: One of the troopers steps in front of Kande. "Please, stay away, we're preserving evidence."
***Simon comes out of the roll and to his feet, his shins slightly bruised, to see the truck bearing down on him. He quickly leaps to the side, desperately trying to get out of the way of the van.
Kande: "Evidence of what, exactly?" Kande'd slow up, but keeps up her approach.
Rainfall: "This woman was involved in the hotel bombing and possibly the killings in the park earlier. Please, step aside!"
Rainfall: The van blows past Simon, the wind ruffling his clothes as he just barely manages to sidestep the onrushing vehicle.
Kande: Well, the very logical thing to do here would be to step back and let the authorities do their work. But hey! That doesn't sound like a good time. "What that girl needs is probably to visit a hospital," Kande's saying, and walking, and digging through her purse.
***Simon catches his breath for a second, barely holding on to the hilt of the gleaming shortsword. He was sure he had felt it get stuck into something as the truck passed by.
Rainfall: The click of a gun sounds awfully loud in the middle of the busy intersection, even with all the car horns blaring. "Stay back, ma'am!'
Devon: Laughing, "Well it's just us now," shouts Devon at Walker. "Get me an angle on their tires will ya?" And with that, Devon leans out the busted window and fires a few distraction shots.
***Walker says "Understood. Hang on, Devon" in a remarkably calm voice, then taps the brakes again, pulls the wheel slightly left, then sumultaneously jerks it hard to the right and yanks the handbrake, gunning the accelerator and whipping the car around in a classic Smuggler's Reverse,
Walker: pulling the car a full one-eighty in seconds, then begins to accelerate back towards the action, eyes narrowed as he weaves through traffic. "Drivers. Get the drivers."
***Kande stops in her tracks and keeps flipping through her purse.
Kande: "She really ought to get to a hospital," she suggests. Somewhere in her purse, she's got her hand on a knife.
Rainfall: The tire rips open as Simon wields his blade, the bang of escaping air clearly audible. The blade gleams as it carries on, tearing through the other tire as well, causing the van to swerve wildly.
Rainfall: "We're taking her there now, in our custody." The trooper frowns at Kande, his compatriot carefully maneuvering the girl onto a stretcher.
Devon: Seeing the crippled van sway and the driver in distress, Devon takes advantage of their situation. Lining up the shot, he waits until the predictable swerve inevitably brings the drivers head into his sights and fires.
***Kande focusses a little bit on this knife of hers. Generally, Kande does her own work... but she doesn't want to be shot! Somewhere, the spirits in employ to her father would be hearing her summons~
***Simon turns around, surpised to hear a hiss and a two rapid *POPS* from the swiftly-moving van, now swerving left and right, barely staying upright on two wheels.
Rainfall: A gunshot rings out, and a splatter of blood decorates the interior windshield of the vehicle. Devon grins viciously as the van swerves, the cadavers foot heavy on the gas.
Walker: "You shoot like I drive. I like you." Walker grinned, and then angled his car straight for one of the men with the stretcher., They are SO not getting Ann. "Let's see if I drive how you shoot..."
Rainfall: Kande feels the familiar presence of the spirits surrounding her, and the trooper's eyes widen slightly as he feels a chill up his spine.
Devon: Devon just keeps on grinning. "For their sake let's hope so!"
***Simon watches as a few large shards of glass roll off the top of the van, which loses control and flips over on its side, grinding to a halt in a shower of sparks a few yards further down the road, two shredded tires spinning futilly in the air. Devon and Walker in their car whip by Simon, heading back to the scene of the crash.
Rainfall: The trooper's eyes widen even more as Walker's car catches one of the troopers lifting the stretcher, pulling him under the wheel in a gory mess as the other one stares on in horror. His hand quakes, and then the spirits go to town on him, taking over his body and slowly tilting his gun towards his head.
Kande: "I am thinking," Kande says, drawing her ornamented dagger out of her purse, "That that girl probably needs to go to a hospital."
***Simon takes more interest in the flipped-over van, paint streaks and small bits of metal coviring the ground leading up to it, as Simon jogs towards it, sword held out at his side, his unbuttoned coat flapping in the breeze.
Rainfall: Another shot rings out, and the one trooper left handling the stretcher turns from the bloody mess of his compatriot to the new, bloodier mess of his other compatriot, who just blew his own brains out.
***Walker slams a fist into the roof of the car in triumph, then returns it to the wheel immediately, whipping the car back around and heading back for Simon and Ann. And if they ruined that pretty face, well... he couldn't kill them, but Daddy dealt with dead people sometimes, maybe he could get five minutes in Tartarus with them?
Devon: Devon immediately jumps out of the car, forcing the pistol into the remaining troopers face as he steps towards him.
Rainfall: The trooper cracks immediately. "I'm just following orders! I swear! I don't know what's going on! Don't kill me! Ohgodohgodohgodohgod."
Rainfall: The wheels still spin as Simon steps up to the van, smoke curling up from the wreck. A low groan of pain comes out of the rear.
Devon: "BANG!" Devon shouts, mocking a forceful recoil as the gun rises upright. Half a second later he's bringing the handle sideways across the troopers face.
***Walker lets the car come to a screeching halt, but doesn't actually bother getting out. The car seems to be the best weapon he has anyway. "Check Ann!"
Kande: Kande kind of swings into a jog towards the wounded girl (Ann?) "I'm a nurse," she informs anyone nearby.
Devon: "My world always is rather convenient!"
***Walker keeps the car idling, glancing about, then flashes a grin at Simon. "Nice work, by the way."
***Simon couldn't help but notice the long, wavering gash through the both tires and across the entire side of the van, a moderate stream of gasoline leaking out of the midsection of the gash and flowing down the undercarriage and into the street. Approaching the back of the van, Simon pulls upwards one half of the rear door.
***Kande slips by and kneels down next to the girl, doing what she can to figure on how much damage's been done. Maybe she can administer some on-site first-aid?
Rainfall: Two of the troopers lie in the rear of the van, one of them with an obviously broken leg, shards of bone sticking out from his knee, the other groaning and clutching his head. Several automatic rifles are clipped to the walls.
Devon: Devon watches the 'nurse' closely as she kneels over Ann, inspecting both of them with his peculiar sight.
***Simon sticks his sword into his belt, and drags the troopers out from the van by their shirt collars, pulling them onto the pavement. The one with the broken leg shrieking.
Rainfall: "ARRRRGHOHGODTHATHURTSYOUASSHOLE'
***Kande leans up a bit. Devon is nearby? Then she's talking to him: "This girl -- she your friend? -- she needs to get to a hospital. They've got a stretcher somewhere over here --"
Devon: "She's friend enough. And yeah, let me help with that..." Devon responds and moves to pick up the fallen stretcher.
Walker: "I'm afraid we don't have time for the stretcher. You're a nurse? Getin the car, we'll get her somewhere safe, and then you can do your thing." Walker didn't comment on how he planned on driving them there with no passenger seat. "Squeeze in."
Kande: "It really would be best to--" Kande started, and then stopped. "Alright, let's hurry, then."
***Simon continues to drag the troopers a few yards away from the ruined van, letting them crumple to the ground rather uncompassionatly. Reaching down to the heavily concussed one's belt, he ripped off a road flare and broke it in half.
Devon: Devon ponders a moment. Maybe Walker knows something about Ann he doesn't. But if the professional is fine with rushing her then Devon was.
Walker: "If it'll make you feel better, get in the van and follow me."
Devon: Looking for where Simon wandered off to Devon spots him molesting the crashed van. "Hey, less making a scene, more leaving the scene!"
Walker: "Boys, sixty seconds and I'm blowing out of here! Quickly please!"
Simon: "Got it," Simon calls back, casually tossing the burning flare towards the in the direction of the shallow pool of gasoline that was currently leaking from the black van.
***Walker as they all crowded into the back, and Walker took off to the crescendo of a beautiful explosion behind them, he couldn't help but laugh. "Simon, I have to say, everything else aside, you've got style. And I respect that."
Kande: Kande interrupts: "So, what the hell?"
Walker: "By the way, hello, Nurse." Walker grinned into the rear view. "I'm Walker. Nice to meet you. Now be quiet and look for ninjas."
Devon: "Oh, right," he looks to Kande, pointing to his chest. "Devon." He points to the unconscious girl propped up between them in the back. "Ann." Devon then points to Kande. "You?"
Devon: "And don't worry, we're also professionals!"
***Walker adds from the front seat. "She's like us, I bet. The compass pointed at her same as the rest of you."
Rainfall: Sirens wail, coming closer every second.
Kande: "It's Kande. I really hope you're taking this girl to a hospital," she informs them.
Walker: "Do you know one that'd turn away a SWAT team?"
Devon: "Yeah, I can't wait to see what happens tonight, what with the day we've had so far," Devon beams at Walker.
Kande: "Don't be snippy, she needs to see a doctor."
Rainfall: Once again, with eerie-and-not-unexpected timing, everyone's phones ring. Well, Devon's vibrates.
***Walker flips it to speaker.
***Simon peered down at the trooper with the broken leg, the explosion from the van a backdrop to his actions. "You're the lucky one," Simon remarked, before delivering a swift kick to the leg of the other trooper, punctuated by a loud snap and cry of pain. Walking toward the other scions, he climbs into the driver's seat of the empty van, Suddenly, his cellphone rings, and he answers.
Rainfall: "Success. Ichor on-site. Retrieval team is going in."
Walker: "You know, I'm beginning to wonder if we're going to have to blow up, shoot, or Grimly Reap every fake rentamerc in Manhattan."
Devon: "We could only dream."
Simon: "Time to get moving - Get her to a hospital, and I'll follow!" Simon yells out, while shutting closed his cellphone and turning the keys of the van, thankful that they were still in the ignition. Closing the door and reaching over under the passenger dash, he pulls out a shotgun, and lays it across his lap.
Walker: "Can you do anything with her that doesn't require us to stop at a public place where we'll then have to get into a gunfight while surrounded by the sick and wounded?"
Devon: "We could always 'borrow' a doctor?"
Kande: "I could... I don't know. I could stop the bleeding and set anything she's broken? I'm not a doctor. She might have internal injuries."
Walker: "Borrowing sounds good. Do what you can, Candy, we'll get you some help."
Devon: Devon makes a double take as some hoodlums catch his eye. They're garbed in black and throwing something upon fleeing pedestrians. Huh.
Rainfall: Kande frowns as she feels for Ann's pulse again, and looks at her watch as she counts. Fifteen seconds... no pulse.
Kande: "And I don't have tools," she continues. "Bandages or anything ... and tourniquets are unhealthy now, you know."
Kande: "
Kande: And she... might be dead, so we should probably go to a hospital *right now*."
Devon: "Take us to a hospital, but be-" orders Devon, glancing at the missing door and other damage. "uhh, be discrete."
Devon: "I'll find us a doctor."
***Simon taps his hands across the steering wheel a few times, before rolling down the window, looking out and wondering what the other were doing still idling.
Kande: "Start driving!"
Walker: "Well technically if she's dead we don't need the hospital anymore. But I somehow doubt someone who can call up a dogheaded Death herself is going down to a car wreck." Walker acquieses, thouygh, and does head for the hospital. "And discrete, I think, is about as likely as us not meeting more SWAT guys."
Kande: "Stop talking," Kande is saying, "And just drive faster. I'm not getting a pulse."
Walker: "I got hit by van. The car only goes so fast without burning and exploding and fire and the oh god help us."
***Simon pulls the black van up aside the still-parked car, wondering what the hold-up was, as the approaching sirens grew louder.
***Simon follows along as Devon's car finally pulls out of the intersection.
Rainfall: The trip to the hospital goes smooth. There's been enough chaos on the streets that the smart new yorker decided to take the subway instead of driving. A crowd of emergency vehicles come in and out, shuttling people from the incidents earlier today as Walker's car pulls up to the emergency entrance
Devon: As soon as the car comes to a stop Devon jumps out and rushes towards the emergency doors.
Devon: "Be right back!"
***Walker twists around in his seat to get a good look at Ann, and for a moment, almost flinches. Then the moment passes. "She looks like hell on wheels hit her."
Kande: "I'm pretty sure we all watched that happen," Kande offers in reply
Rainfall: Devon rushes into the hospital, keeping his eyes out for someone who looks like they know what they're doing. A man in a white labcoat exits from a room, glancing at a clipboard in his hands.
Walker: "Hey, I was watching the road, really."
***Simon tosses the shotgun into the passenger seat, glad he didn't have to use it. Rolling up the window, he parks the van in an empty spot next to the sidewalk and grabs the keys, locking the vehicle behind him.
Walker: "I did tell them to watch out for ninjas. I guess I shouldn't have been so specific?"
Rainfall: A man wearing a long, dirty brown coat, looking rather like death warmed over, stumbles up to Simon's van. "Got a light?"
Rainfall: *man in a white labcoat with stethoscope
Devon: Devon rushes up to the man, acting out the utmost urgency and really hamming it up. "Doctor!..." *checks nametag* "Price!"
Simon: "Not on me, no" Simon says, leaning aginst the van trying to conceal the fact that he had a sword at his waist.
Devon: "There's been a horrible accident and they told me to tell you that you need to come out stat! She's outside and can't be moved, vitals have just dissappeared altogether!"
Devon: "Grab what you need and hurry along with me!"
Rainfall: "Oh my god!" Dr. Price rushes back into his room and emerges with a small black bag. "Let's go!"
Rainfall: "Any change then, man?"
Rainfall: The guy leans towards Simon, his breath smelling like booze and copper.
Devon: Devon directs the good doctor to the waiting car, hoping to get this done quick. God damn ninjas.
Rainfall: The doctor rushes towards the car, leaning inside and shining his flashlight
Rainfall: *HE DOES MEDICINE STUFF* and then calls out "Get the stretcher team out here! We need to get her into emergency stat!"
Devon: "She's out of time doc, you gotta do something now!"
Simon: "Listen, I've had a tough day" Simon responds, turning towards the begger and pulling out a worn bill from his pockets, not even worrying about the denomination and holding it out. "You can have this if you leave me alone."
Rainfall: The homeless guy nods. "Thanks, man!" He stumbles back into the darkness.
Rainfall: The doctor frowns, and reaches into his bag. He pulls Ann's shirt up, placing two pads on her chest. "Clear!" He presses a button, and Ann's body jerks on the back seat.
Rainfall: A stretcher crew comes out, looking to Dr. Price. "Where's the casualty?" The doctor points, and they start loading Ann's skinny, lifeless body onto the stretcher.
***Kande tries to stick close to the medical crew. "I am a nurse," she announces. "I was at the scene of the accident!"
Rainfall: "What happened? Anything we should know about? Did the casualty say anything before she lost consciousness?" The crew starts to wheel Ann back towards the hospital, moving fast.
Devon: Fuck. Devon turns to Walker. "Fuck. Alright, I'm gonna tag along, but looks like we need to hang here for a bit. I'll try to expedite things."
***Walker finally turns off his car, steps out of it, and looks once at Devon. Then he reaches back into the car, grips the Godsknife in one hand, and mutters. "We were hit by a van. She was in the passenger seat. See there? The one that's only sorta there anymore."
Walker: "You go ahead. I'll wait for Simon.
Kande: "She was in a car," Kande says. "She was hit by a truck. She was unconcious when I arrived at the scene -- her pulse faded en route to the hospital."
Walker: We'll try to give you warning if they show back up."
Rainfall: Simon watches the homeless guy fade into the darkness, and rolls his eyes as he hears retching. The guy was totally boozed up.
Devon: Devon puts on an act again. "I'm her boyfriend, and if I leave her side she won't make it I know it!"
Rainfall: The doctors roll their eyes. "Come on, then!"
Rainfall: "Just don't touch her."
***Simon watches the scene from a distance, glad that this bum was just a normal homeless bum. Finally, he walked over to Walker's half-crushed car after Ann is removed from the backseat. Quietly, he grabs Ann's handbag and bloody labcoat and starts looking through them for a small scalpel that he had seen earlier. From what he had seen earlier, it might be what could help the most at the moment.
Rainfall: The stretcher crew heads inside, shouting for people to clear the way as they haul ass to the emergency room.
***Walker glanced at Simon. "What took you? Come on, let's go make sure there won't be any more... unwelcome guests."
***Simon pulls a small, diamond-tipped scalpel out of the pocket of the bloody labcoat, and sticks it in the inside pocket of his coat. "Let's go see if she'll make it." Simon says, locking the Harpe back into the thin leather case, still in the backseat of Walkers car, and following the stretcher crew inside.
Simon: *Obsidian-tipped
Walker: "She'll make it fine." Walker shrugged and followed Simon in. "Fate's a bitch, sure, but she does like a good story, and this'd be better if she lived. Plus, she's cute and I rather like her."
Rainfall: Dr. Price and his aides drag Ann into an emergency room, sliding her onto the bed as he begins CPR, the aides hooking her up to various monitors. Her pulse beats irregularly, the defibrillator apparently having done it's job. "She's not breathing! Get her air!"
Devon: Having some fun with the role, Devon stands a short distance away, clutching his hands high and drawing up some tears as he frets.
Simon: "Life isn't always a fairy-tale story" Simon responds back to Walker, as Simon walks over into an observation room, where he could see the operation through a thick pane of glass, and hear the doctors over the intercom.
Walker: "Have you been here for the last three hours?"
Rainfall: After a few minutes of frenzied operation, and a few more shocks with the defibrilator, Dr. Price stands up and shakes his head. "Time of death, 15:02."
Devon: Devon bursts into a sob.
Rainfall: The aides switch of the monitors, shrugging as they pack everything up, sterilizing equipment and the like.
Rainfall: Price turns to the sobbing Devon. "Do you want a few moments?:"
***Simon sits up from his seat in the observation room, and casually walks over to the open door, outside of which stood Walker. Simon quietly shut the door, and turned the bolt, locking himself inside the room alone.
Devon: Choking back some tears, Devon nods slowly. Damn I'm good.
Devon: Unfortunately, Devon is also at a loss at what to do next.
***Walker just watches for a few moments, watches Simon lock himself in, then watches the assistants begin to turn off the machinery. Then he turns away, very slowly, and pulls out the Compass, giving it one hard look, as if to say "What the hell is your game?" before beginning the slow walk back outside.
Rainfall: The lights in the hospital flicker for a moment, a low buzzing sound filling the halls before the bright clean lights return to normal.
***Simon reaches into the inner pocket on his coat, and pulls out the scalpel, twirling it for a moment, examining the razor-sharp obsidian.
Devon: Devon watches still, expecting some of fates intervention to reveal itself before him, but nothing is happening.
Rainfall: The blade glints in the dull light, revealing heiroglyphics scribed into the blade. A jackal, an ankh, a bird...
Rainfall: They make no sense to Simon's eyes.
Kande: Kande is pretty pissed at this turn of events. She expects that her spirits are causing some real trouble to make up for this!
Rainfall: The lights in the hospital flicker again, and the PA system crackles into life.
Rainfall: "We appear to be encountering some difificulties with the power. Don't worry, in the event of any failure our backup generators will take over."
***Simon remains baffled by the heiroglyphics, and flips the scalpel around, clenching it firmly in his fist, and focuses all of his attention and will upon it.
***Walker snaps his glance to the lights, and frowns, then makes one quick look over his shoulder. This... can't be good. "We're about to make some new friends, I think..." He turns on his heel and heads back for the other two, for the moment banishing the question of Ann from his mind. That was a distraction, and he couldn't afford distractions right now.
***Simon breaks his concentration, and again holds the scalpel, the way he had seen Ann a few hours ago, refocusing himself.
Rainfall: The Anubian Reaper rises from the ground, dark sand forming itself into the hooded beast. The lights begin flickering more urgently.
***Simon sticks the scalpel into his breast pocket and turns towards the glass, directing the reaper's attention towards the operating room as well. "As you can see, there has been an unfortunate turn of events." Simon states grimly.
Rainfall: The reaper nods solemnly.
***Simon pushes his mirrored aviator sunglasses further up onto the bridge of his nose. "As you could imagine, these matters are not my expertise. You could say that I haven't been educated in these applications of... contract law.
Simon: "So, I hope that you might be better informed as to the certain nuances of a situation such as this. I will put it plainly - what will it take to return your rightful master to the living?"
Rainfall: The reaper growls. "She is with her father now. He can return her or not as he sees fit."
Rainfall: And then the lights go out.
Rainfall: Oddly, the glow from the screens in the emergency room don't, but the main lights do.
***Walker swears, loudly.
Simon: "I... see," and Simon slowly nods a single time, the two of them present only illuminated by the dark blue hue of the diodes and LCD screens. "Perhaps a meeting could be arranged."
***Kande doesn't swear at all. She is still pretty intensely concerned about Ann -- nevermind the big monster over here (although it says a lot about these people!)
Rainfall: "Perhaps. Others seek the child. We must stop them."
Simon: "Very well then," Simon agrees, snapping open the case and taking out the Harpe, before unlocking the door and letting it swing open. "Will you join us?" Simon turns around quietly asks the reaper.
Rainfall: "Yes."
***Simon walks out of the observation room, a sword in his hand and the hulking anubian reaper trailing him, both of them barely visible in the dim light.
Simon: "Let's do this."
