Tiny music machines that fit in your pocket

Hey guys, I'm looking for a great quality mp3 player that has at least 20gigs of storage capacity. My first choice, obviously, was to raid the ipod selection at newegg but they all seem painfully overpriced...still. From personal experience, can anyone here recommend an affordable mp3 player (don't care what brand it is) or a link to a great site or something? thanks.

Also, have the older generation ipods gone done considerably in price and do they still sell them somewhere online? I wouldn't mind picking up a leftover generation . . . as long as it's reliable. :P

The Zune is pretty good for it's price. I'm fairly certain you can get a 20 Gig Zune for 200.

refurbished ipods are always in pretty much brand new condition: http://store.apple.com/1-800-MY-APPLE/WebObjects/AppleStore.woa/wa/RSLID?mco=MTE3Njc&nclm=Certified

Is there anything specific you're looking for in your mp3 player aside from storage space? Things like video capabilities, color display, size, etc?

for MP3 players in the "hold your whole library" size category, you're pretty much stuck with either a Zune or an iPod. They're the same price new, but I don't think you can get refurb zunes as easily as iPods.

I really don't care for video or any of the superfluous junk flung my way, just a straight up music machine! hehe. I remember a really good friend of mine told me he was able to get his hands on an old generation ipod(still digital aka no color display) for a great deal somewhere. I'm straight up looking for great storage space for a great price. I'm not much into looks.

Also, i checked the apple refurbished ipods online. The catch is that they only sell their new models refurbished - so it's still pretty expensive.

I'd say my budget is at most 150 gil?

Well, for 150$ (sorry, dont know the exchange rate from Midgar) I dont know that you can find a (good) 20gig player. I suppose you could search ebay/craigslist.

I will say this, they are people that sell pristine iPods the second new ones come out. So just keep your eye out for a used iPod.

If you're tech-savvy at all, I recommend one of the players on this list:

I personally have the Toshiba Gigabeat. That's a wonderful opensource mp3 player firmware that has a bunch of features that you won't believe. Before I converted firmwares, my mp3 player couldn't even play video, only pictures. Now not only can it play videos, I can play games on it too, including fucking Doom. It's an amazing program, even if it takes a bit of effort to set up.
