Xbox 360 sound question (NOT RROD)

Greetings all I hope this eve finds you well.

My tv served as both computer monitor and xbox 360 device. This was good, and I was happy.

Then the tv died in a power spike and I was sad.

So I bought a Acer p241w 26" monitor for $600 and I was happy.

I hooked up my computer fine, and my xbox has never looked so glorious.

Now the issue is the tv had speakers, and my monitor does not.

Is there a way to output the sound from the xbox to my speakers?

What AV vables are you using for the video? Most of the cables come with RCA red / white audio adapters which you can use an RCA -> 3.5mm adapter and then use a "gender bender" to convert that male jack to a female jack which you can plug headphones / speakers into.

So, one of these:

Which will let you plug your computer speakers / some headphones in.

The official xbox HDMI cable comes with a dongle that goes in the usual A/V output on the back of the console which has the connections for RCA and the SPDIF optical out. I'm not sure if you can buy the adapter seperately.
