Supposedly Deadpool has cancer or something and for some reason it makes him horribly scarred when his healing factor kicks in.

Fantomex is awesome. What happened to him after Morrison's run?

Technically, Deadpool's cells constantly regenerate. Since he had cancer BEFORE the experiment, it wasn't cured, but kept in check. It's constantly attacking and at once being defeated by his power.

If he were to lose the regenerative power, he would become a victim of his cancer once again. The reason he is always fully masked is due to this flux (which also constantly changing his (grotesque) appearance).

I wonder if he'll break the 4th wall in the movie?

Probably not, because this isn't a dead pool movie and he's not going to be in it that much. Honestly the two major characters are going to be wolverine and sabertooth. Hopefully the others if this one does well will get their own.

Fixed that for you. Simone's run is my personal favorite. Cable and Deadpool the comic was good, but I don't know, cable has always struck me as boring.

And as for X-3, they could have gotten Singer back and it still wouldn't have helped matters. The problem wasn't the director, it was like someone else said, Fox and their need to have an X-Men film when Superman came out, mostly as a fuck you to Singer.

Finally saw the trailer after going to like seven dead link sites.

Looks pretty good. I'm a big Liev Shrieber fan and I think he will do pretty well in this.

I like the scene in the trailer with little wolvie as a kid with bone claws.

Finally, Ryan Reynolds will do well as daredevil. I know for a while it was a toss up between him playing daredevil and him playing Wally West in a Flash movie or the Justice League movie before it got canned.

ryan reynolds as deadpool???? Wtf guys. How is that even close to being right. Might as well cast Taj as sabretooth.

Really? Man, I thought the general consensus ever since Blade Trinity came out was that Reynolds would make the perfect Deadpool. I'm totally for it, even though his cameo in the trailer leaves me feeling a bit empty. Hopefully in the movie he at least has a more recognizable outfit than just a red shirt and two katanas.

Plus he's a fan of the character. He has shown interest (as in said out loud he would gladly take the role if offered) to play Deadpool and/or the Flash.

Also, I would like it very, very much if Omega Red was in this movie. I dont know anything about the plot of the movie (honestly I dont want to know, I hate spoilers). But he's got some good backstory with Wolverine and the crew, so I can hope.

Io9.com has a breakdown of the trailer, with a few screen grabs. The most interesting part(for me anyways) was the fact it looks like Emma Frost is in this movie..

Too bad they ruined Gambit by pairing Rogue with Wolverine.

I guess it won't matter so much since this is a prequel?

From what I recall from months ago, the dude who plays Sawyer on Lost will be playing Gambit, and I'm pretty damn sure he'll get it right. Hes halfway there already!

Also, an Age of Apocalypse movie would be so rad.

Actually, it's this guy, Taylor Kitsch. Probably going with a younger guy for a prequel, just in case of an X-Men 4.

what was wrong with x3 was brett ratner.

ratner was just a symptom. The problem was Fox, who rushed production on the movie to get it out before Superman Returns. I hate Ratner too but the reality is he had very little creative direction in the movie, everything was basically set in stone before he was finally hired. They started shooting almost immediatley after he came onboard, all the pre-production was done without him.
Yeah, Singer's plan was to just do the Phoenix story, but the studio, in their infinite wisdom, thought the mutant cure was a better plot. Ratner just stepped in on a movie that had already started filming and finished the job.

I hope Wolverine is good. X-Men and X2 were fantastic, but X3 was so terrible that any movie with the "X-Men" name on it gives me an initial reaction of cringing.

Gambit being in this movie makes me happy. I do like Wolverine and I actually do enjoy his solo comics. Have the most recent set sitting at my parents house for when I get back to the states. But the Blob? Come on! His power is being fat! Not a little fat, but like bigger than a semi-truck fat. And he smells like bacon.

I saw Deadpool in there. But his face was not disfigured yet. Maybe Deadpool before the weapon-x experiment that makes him in a regenerater like Wolverine? Still pissed on how much they destroyed the third movie. If you just followed the Phoenix/ Dark Phoenix story line you would of had an awesome movie. Both exciting and touching at the same time. About the only thing I can say, since Professor X is technically dead couldn't we move into maybe and Age of Apocalypse setting?

Age of Apocalypse is too dark for a PG-13 movie. Did you guys play X-Men Legends 2? It basically followed a pseudo-616 version of the AoA storyline, but it was incoherent and lackluster. You can't communicate the impact of AoA unless you skew the lines of who's good and who's bad and add a several-billion person bodycount.

My personal best bet for an X4 would be Mr. Sinister as the villian leading up to the threat of Apocalypse and his horsemen.

And I luuuuuuurv me some Gambit. "Life don' get much better dan dis."

It's more the fact that 90's Gambit was awesome and badass, like the cartoon...

Gambit today is emo and whiney... like a little girl.

Gambit was very quickly defined mostly by his relationship with Rogue, which gave Rogue and Remy shippers something to be happy about but which also seemed to severely stunt their character development outside of that relationship. His two, mostly quite decent, attempts at his own ongoing didn't so much have this problem, but not many people read them.

Also, his speech patterns made many people want to put a railway spike through their own head. Constantly saying something in French and then immediately saying the English equivalent? Rage.

Cyclops is, actually, my favorite comic book hero. Of all time. I am well aware I am almost completely alone in this.

X3 was, to me, nothing more than a repeated kick to the crotch.

I wasn't the least bit excited for a Wolverine movie. Then they had to put Deadpool (my #2) in it... now I can't wait...

Well, X3 had no action scene in it remotely as good as the Wolverine vs unlucky special ops guys that made me giggle with happiness so much in X2. Also, the script wasn't as polished, the film had some glaring evidence of being rushed (plotholes, dangling questions, sloppy editing, etc) and finally, Vinnie bleeding Jones as Juggernaut. It was in dire need of a decent director like Singer to bring it all together and give it some class. Brett Ratner is not that man.

Most of what you mention that is wrong with this movie would not have been fixed by a director.

And I think people dislike X-3 so much because of how great x2 was. I would say that's the same for Spiderman 3, but I'm still quite sure that movie sucks balls.
