This may be my new favorite bored-at-work website. What's frightening is that it does not appear to actually be a joke. If it is, I really have to salute the dedication of people to put so much work into it--that would be some crazy Prestige-style "live the illusion" shit.
It never started out as a joke, but I've seen whole forums where their favorite passtime was to see how much out-there crap they could put in there before triggering anyone's warning signals.
Not that I'm advocating that, mind you.
Also, adding an entry on Stephen Colbert where you list him as a standard conservative pundit is not, actually, a good way to go unnoticed, it seems.
What's the deal with that picture? Why are his hands folded and not on his heart? I personally am not offended and couldn't care less but I imagine there had to have been some clean up for that?

the anthem had just ended, or something like that. Don't recall exactly.
I like how they refer to him as the first Affirmative Action President, which leads to this link which basically makes fun of anyone who uses the phrase.
"Senator Obama began his anti-soldier candidacy for President of the United States on February 10, 2007"
This is clearly a heavily biased statement. After editing out the "anti-soldier" remark, it was replaced within 2 minutes. This site never had a lot of credibility to begin with, but this whole article is just transparently biased. Amazingly so for a site whose main claim against Wikipedia is that they slant to the left.
Apparently insinuating that Barak Obama's candidacy is not based on being "anti-soldier" is "Liberal bias"
Warning: your introduction of liberal bias is getting tiresome and will lead to blocking of your account.--Aschlafly 11:23, 8 June 2008 (EDT)
From the Obama talk page. The warning is

It was the national anthem, not the pledge of allegiance.
Did they ever fix the entry on Africa where it was supposedly to the west of Europe? Oh, lolfundies, you rarely disappoint.
Oh man it's full of gold. "Obama disrespectfully calls him 'George Bush'". "He has no clear personal achievement that cannot be explained as the likely result of affirmative action". "Obama wore an American flag lapel pin after 9/11, but later stopped wearing it without adequate explanation"
Richard Lenski is a scientist who's 20 year research project results in concrete evidence that a strain of E. Coli evolved the ability to metabolize citrate - something E. Coli does not normally do. This is published as massive support of the theory of evolution. Conservatives throw a hissy.
Andrew Schlafly - basically the founder of conservapedia - sends Richard Lenski emails questioning his data and methods, and demanding copies of the raw data and samples of the bacteria. Richard Lenski proceeds to take a giant public shit on Schlafly. It is one of the best nerd-pwnings ever.
Specifically, the talk page. Apparently, even religious conservatives don't like Conservapedia.
That's glorious. After the fantastic speech there another little insight into the bunker mentality of the regular contributors "A page history and check on other edits by the culprit reveals that it was an enemy of Conservapedia, whom I assume is a liberal". An enemy of conservapedia?

Best like ever: "And lest you accuse me further of fraud, I do not literally mean that we have unicorns in the lab. Rather, I am making a literary allusion."

clearly there's no "around" the "middle" of the Earth, as the Bible clearly implies in several places that the Earth is flat.
edit: for reference, this is another example of something that's just a little too out-there to post on Conservapedoia.
In the dinosaur entry, under the heading of 'Creationists cite a number of reasons to believe that dinosaurs have existed until relatively recent times, and perhaps still survive.': "Dragons appear in the flag of Wales, in traditional Chinese New Years' Day celebrations, and in the Chinese calendar. Εvery other creature on the calendar is a real creature."
IT SEEMS SO LOGICAL NOW.
Edit: Just noticed that it's actually "Rush Week: Human Events Celebrates 20 Years of Rush Limbaugh".
as the page points out, other planets are experiencing warming as well. The common denominator is THE SUN. The Bible predicted that this would occur, and during this particular time. Read Isaiah 30:26 as well as 2Peter 3:10-12, Malachi 4:1.

And then he links to both "unicorn in the garden" and "literary allusion". It was beautiful.
We should contact Lenski and invite him to join PA.

the only thing i dont get is the rude part in the second letter. it just didnt ruffle my feathers... maybe the part where he said it was tax payer funded?

Well, Lenski also read the public talk page where Schlafly and co. were publicly slandering him while discussing the second letter, so there's that.

Hell, I just read the article on Lenski and I'd be pretty upset if I were him.

yeah there is that but he said the letter was rude... maybe theres a different letter or something?
i tried to look at the discussion page but its about 10 pages of straight text... not something im interested in reading really.

I especially love how the references to the "potential problems" and "flaws" are to conservapedia's own pages...
Isn't the point of including references to MAKE REFERENCES to OUTSIDE sources? In this case say, a scientist's site or paper that has reviewed the report and gone into detail about said flaws.
It's obvious that conservapedia doesn't want anyone on their site to actually read Lenski's papers and take whatever they say as fact.
I read that whole sorry chain a few weeks, back linked from another site, - No argument here that Schafly is batshit
Surely if modern sources were so biased it would be really easy to remove the bias and create a clean source - but apparently that can only be done if all evidence is thrown out

My brain first picked that up as "African-American President" but realized something was not quite right and went back and read it again. Just wow.
Oh man the Obama page is priceless.
Also all the "In the News" links are to World Net Daily.
WHO ARE THESE PEOPLE?!
I thought that was supposed to be vampires?
edit: Aww, they removed the hilarious legal warning from the front page! That was some sort of self-inflicted punchline. I miss it.
This is the best page on Conservapedia.
