Guys, if you really wanna talk fast food, how about Five Guys? MMMMMMMmmmmm.

We've got one of these down the street from where I work, good, but full of grease.

True, but I was talking about the taste. McD can't make em taste good even if they dip them in grease.

Don't forget their unbelievable hot dogs.

Thanks to their success I've seen a small spate of similar restaurants opening up here. Apparently one of them even delivers which is basically my fantasty come true.

They have hot dogs? I moved from DC to Istanbul in 2006 so I must have missed it when they added them to their menu.

Hot dogs in DC should be eaten from the street vendors....

EDIT, for fast food in DC http://www.albertospizzeria.com/

Damnit man. I lived in and around DC for a long time and now that I am not around, you guys are bringing up all this good stuff :(

Never said I would say this but oh man, I miss DC.

You and me both dude, you and me both.

Something about McD's cheese gives me the shits.

I do like the "southern style chicken" biscuits and sandwiches that McDonald's has recently introduced. They're an attempt to make chicken like Chick-fil-a...and while they don't come even close, they're still pretty good.

I hate those b/c they replaced the $1 McChicken and chicken biscuits with the inferior "southern chicken" that's the same size but now costs $2.50 each

The one thing I've noticed about mcdonalds is that their burgers taste a lot better here in Canada than they do in the US. Might just be that i have weird taste buds though.

In-N-Out is so good. Too bad it's only on the west coast so most of you are missing out. Better the Wendys. I'm so happy when they opened on near me.

If I remember right, I only liked BK burgers as a kid because the McDonald's burgers had chopped onions on them while the BK ones didn't. I grew out of liking fast-food burgers at all, though, and opted for just the chicken nuggets and fries if I ended up at one of the burger joints.

I like KFC! Apparently though, they turned my favorite sandwich into a much smaller version of itself, but also made it cheaper? So now I need to buy two or three at a time. om nom nom

Dislike the potato wedges, though. I prefer fries to wedges in general.

I would say In-N-Out's fries are above average. At the very least they're fresh, like cut 5 minutes prior fresh.

that's because you're used to frozen, processed fries with "animal" flavoring added to 'em. At least at In-N-Out you know what you're eating... cause you can see 'em put the whole potato in the chopper thing.

I honestly cannot stand McDon... it's also in clear violation of my "Cheep Meat" policy.

Wendy's is by far a superior burger, as it just about anything out there... though I find that I ate to much BK during college, and have not had the desire to eat there for years.

Whenever I eat at Wendy's, I get diarrhea. Same when I consume a McFlurry and McDonald's or a ChocoTaco at Taco Bell (which I think they stopped selling, thank God).

As for KFC, I've had difficulty eating there ever since the one near my parents' house had to close down for a while because it was so dirty. There were literally rats falling into the deep-fryer and showing up in people's chicken buckets. They've reopened, but whenever I've been to a KFC, they seems to dirty.

Also, has there been no love for Tommy's yet?

I was in Europe this summer, and the McDonalds in Prague had an "asian taco" on the menu as like a promotional thing for the Beijing Olympics.

First of all, what the fuck is an asian taco.

Second of all, I tried it just out of curiosity, and it was just a regular hamburger patty inside of a soft taco shell instead of a hamburger bun, slathered in teriyaki sauce instead of ketchup. It was revolting.

Are US McDonald's restaurants rebranding in the same manner UK ones are? Increasing numbers of them are ditching the red & yellow colour scheme for a more muted black and green; with different designs for chairs and tables inside.

Uh, I can't stand McDonald's. I haven't eaten there in like two years, and the last time I was almost desperate for food that I could get quickly. (Mesquite, Nevada: one fast food joint and like four casinos. What a great place o_O).

So yea, one buck food or not, I don't need to give that nastiness to my body.

Not on the west coast that I've seen. I live in a pretty urban environment, though, with things already built out, to there's not much room for new fast food restaurants. In fact, a Carl Jr. just closed recently and was replace by an independent cafe. I would expect any new designs to be in new restaurants, with redesigning existing ones being at the bottom of the priority list.

Especially with LA now want to ban any new fast food places from coming into South LA for one year.

A new McDs was just built by me, and it looks less like the inside of a clown, and more like the inside of a cultured clown. Chairs aren't just red plastic benches, there's more high divider walls, etc.

The problem with Wendy's that I've had is that there is wild variation in quality. I typically get the spicy chicken, and sometimes it is awesome, best fast food I've had, and sometimes it is mediocre at best, overcooked or something.

The only things I can stand from McDonalds are some of the things on the breakfast menu and their new, more expensive chicken strips.
