When i bought my laptop, the sales guy said i could allocate some of my system ram to the video card to ramp it up in the bios, but i coudnt find anything. Is it even true? And if so, how do i do it?
yes it is true that you can ramp up the video ram in the bios,
the setting is deepish inside the bios most likely advanced or chipset settings,
it may be that the bios that was shipped with the laptop is a limited one and it dosent have the advanced that setting.
upgrading the bios may help but i wouldn't do it unless you really know what you are doing.
Manufacturers website will have updated bios versions. But this using massive amounts of system ram as video memory is pretty much just a marketing exercise. It really won't make much of a difference.
