I figured I'd share this tidbit... I was playing a public server last night as a sniper (which I'm not that good at) and I got three head shots in a row like ducks they fell. hehehehe... Also Demoman Killing spree which isn't showing up in my stats on my page for some reason. I got 4 kills in a round with a demoman and a helluva lot of posthumous revenge kills as a Pyro... there should be an achievement for that.

I agree when I get my Sammich I prolly will stick with it. The Shotgun just doesn't see much use with me. I'll have to use it for an achievement though.
Only time I find the shotgun to be better is in those areas between the primary battle areas where someone might come up on you. Otherwise I've been very happy with the sandvich.
Woo, the bullet bug went away. After no changes -- I just restarted steam for the 100th time and it was fixed. Ah well, never look a gift horse in the mouth, I just hope it doesn't return.
Speaking of inexplicable bugs, I still don't know if my "crash horribly if you get blinded" bug has solved itself
What do you mean blinded? In my search for a solution to my own problem I found a ton of misc. bug fixes/workarounds, maybe I'll remember something.
As in like admin abuse blinded. I freeze and crash without fail a moment after my screen starts to darken

Played without a mic for an horu or so today and I don't realise how I could have ever gone without it, especially as a medic. Running down a corridor with a heavy and a demo comes up behind us, had to run in front of the heavy and spam E as I jumped up and down like a rabbit on crack. Plus spies have to be uber sawed at all costs, even if it means leaving the heavy without heals against those three guys in front of him.

when i first got my computer and tf2, i could run it all medium with bloom or blur at 1280x960 35 fps.
now im in dx 80 all low, same res, and getting about 30-50 fps.

this is my first computer with a graphics card in it, and as such its stuck into the computer and i cant replace it. if it keeps getting worse i might have to just stop playing pc games
You know... I experience something similar. I put more or less all my options on max and it runs pretty well. The other day I thought "hey maybe I want a better fps cause I'm completely sucking at scout and can't aim" and lowered the detail.
The game ran worse.
It actually ran slower and was laggier.
Since then I've put it back up to near max again and decided just to live with it.
What type of hardware are you running? I had an ATI card before I replaced it, and I noticed all "source" games (HL:2, CS:S, TF2, etc) ran worse with anti-aliasing turned off at higher resolutions. Maybe that's just me, I don't know. So I compromised: AA at 2x, and everything else at med/low. Really helped more than the converse of no AA and higher textures.
Got a GeForce 8600M GT (256 mb), 4 gigs of RAM and a 2.4ghz CPU. The CPU and card are a bit slow for my tastes but it's the best I could get while still staying in budget and with a laptop.
(in before "OMG LAPTOP WTF?!?! you can get laptop+better desktop for equal money - well fuck you guys, I didn't want a desktop, I wanted a laptop I could game on).
Yeah and I think it might've been that I turned off AA... I'll have to experiment tonight.
my real question is, do graphic cards generally just were out after a couple years?

All parts will wear down eventually. Are you just noticing the slow down in game? Or does everything else seem to take longer?
