My roommate bought a hand gun
Posts
I'm thinking utility!
It's true, they're pretty awesome. I just can't hit anything with them.
I mean I'll have to go wikipedia them now.
various polymers! i think there might be metal ones though.
The way I'm imagining that, the stabber would get stabbed more than the stabbee. And I have a terrible imagination, looking at it again. I'm picturing it being held like brass knuckles, which is a pretty funny image.
In fact, 83.7% (by weight) of the Glock pistol is normal ordnance steel and the "plastic" parts are a dense polymer known as "Polymer 2", which is radio-opaque and is therefore visible to X-ray security equipment. In addition, virtually all of these "plastic" parts contain embedded steel not to make the firearms "detectable", but to increase functionality and shooting accuracy. Contrary to popular movies like Die Hard 2: Die Harder, neither Glock nor any other gun maker has ever produced a "porcelain", "ceramic" or "plastic" firearm which is undetectable by ordinary security screening devices. Even if a pistol were completely undetectable by either X-ray machines or metal detectors were to be developed, the ammunition inside would still be detectable.
In Die Hard 2, the character John McClane portrayed by Bruce Willis specifically referred to a non-existent "Glock 7" with many fictitious characteristics:
That punk pulled a Glock 7 on me! You know what that is? It's a porcelain gun made in Germany. It doesn't show up on your airport X-ray machines, and it costs more than you make here in a month!
Man that is interesting. No really.
Polymer 2 sounds so fucking mysterious.
also, they fit in my hand!
1911's are also very nice. springfield, para, kimber, etc.
Practical, no?
I can't decide if this is going to be horror or comedy yet
i've only ever fired rifles and shotguns. i guess no one i know needs a handgun for protection or whatever the fuck.
but they're fun to target shoot with, and better than nothing to defend your life with. or family. or somebody else, if need be
a romantic comedy
they can also be pretty badass.
my favorite is the FN Five-seven. i think they're still illegal for civilians to buy. although i heard about a 9mm model coming out.
"Shoot? I'm a hippie. The only thing I've shot is acid. I heard of a dude snorted it once. Thought his nose was a kangaroo and the moon was a dog! WOOH!"
i love handguns though i disparage them in lieu of rifles and shotguns
i want a 1911 of some manufacture, a springfield xd, a sig p229 sas, and a fucking number of revolvers.
for revolvers i like the peacekeeper or .
Heath Ledger is gonna be the Joker?
A history of perfect Jokers tainted!
Nah dude I own a Five-Seven.
Its pretty slick. 20 round magazine is cool, accurate as hell --but ammo is expensive as hell
so we're cool with everyone having armor piercing handgun rounds now??
those claims are overstated. The penetration capabilities of 5.7x28 are comparable to several large caliber hand gun rounds in the .44 range.
Ballistically--it is not dissimilar to .22 WMR --itll penetrate very basic armors up to possible IIA--but its no more threatening than any other mid grade projectile.
well when i get my own place i shall have to procure one. they still like 2 grand?
Not even close--around 800-900 is a good price! Just make sure you get the second generation and not the DAO first generation

well uh, he shoulda quoted cause that shit was a long time ago.
and I began both around the same time and pretty quickly started exclusively playing Disgaea.
Is this decision acceptable y/n
are you lost boy?
you got a real purdy mouf...
This reminded me of the farmers around here getting mad at snow mobilers when it first started to become a big thing. The stupid assholes would drive everywhere they wanted and cut open the farmers fences to make passages for themselves, when you own cattle this is not a good thing.
So the farmers started responding by grabbing their hunting rifles and blowing holes in the engines of the snow mobiles while they were stopped at the fence trying to use wire cutters on it. You don't get away with it now (obviously, even then they got in shit for it), but I know of one family that got tired of them ripping around on their property, so they hid saw horses in the ditches where you couldn't stop fast enough
As far as .40cal handguns, I own a P99. It is nice, but expensive to shoot often and kicks way too damn hard.
