I am literally 30 sec into the game, and I found a bug.
Trying to create a creature for the cell stage, and when I select the 'Filter Mouth', it dissapears.
The shadow is there when I add it to the creature, and it works, its just invisible.
How did you feel about having to use the EA Store to do this, though?
Also, I'm 100% sure it comes out in the US this Sunday. If you want to wait until Monday, by all means. More Spore for me.
I didn't pre-order this. I'm hoping to God that 2 Best Buys, 2 Game Stops, 2 Wal-Marts, 2 Circuit Cities, and 2 Targets all within reasonable driving distance (<15 minutes) will get me the game.

I do like how your special abilities from creature mode move on to the tribal stage at least. My guys flew around a lot and then stealth charged the enemy it was great. Too bad none of that actually mattered in civ or space mode. Honestly, the only mode that really seems finished is tidepool and space mode.
I don't really like my species though I was trying to be adaptable but I turned out to be totally social. I think I may start the game over from the beginning as a carnivore.
Oh and I don't think you have to take out the enemy homeworld in one go. Just knock out a city and run away to repair and get more fleet. I don't think the cities respawn. Furthermore, why not just antiterraform it back to a barren hellhole. I don't know if this actually works but it would be interesting to see.

i'm so confused....i chose the direct download, i chose to download with the ea download manager thingy...the manager popped up for a few seconds, then it disappeared and i don't see any indication of whether or not it's downloading

I'm hoping the making of is at least 2 DVD's in length. I'm hoping for something along the lines of Lord of the Rings calibur, where it's practicly a full college course in movie making.

One change that I've seen is the only exiting of your ship in space stage is accomplished as a hologram. Frankly, this makes the most sense. Leaving your ship would be irresponsible=P.

oh wow, i finally got the download working...i had to redownload the ea manager for some reason...the one i had wasn't working correctly it seems...very odd
I think what space is missing is a way to design ships and build a fleet from those ships from your own race to help defend your space and attack enemy systems. Having to come back every time something raids you is pretty annoying. I'd like to see a space defense force like what happens when you go to an enemy system with their ships attacking you before you can even get down to the solar system level.
So this came out on Tuesday instead of the normal Thursday release and is sold out everywhere. My only option is to buy a $140 Galactic Edition if I want to play.
Is it available for download at D2D or somewhere else online?
Micro managing a universe and having space ships able to shoot you when your not on a planet aren't very good design choices. I've had to return to my home planet at least 20 times because something was attacking. Or I've had to go back to planets I've taken over and over again because the planet will die out or some creature had a disease that it's passing around, which usually comes up at least 5 times an hour. This isn't too annoying when you first start the space stage, but because really tedious when you control 20 galaxies and trying to make money. You don't even get any money or anything doing it {besides maybe a pirate dropping some money, but it's a pretty small amount}. The rate I'm getting these missions has to be a bug.
The space ships able to shoot you outside of a planet isn't that big of a problem until you start heading to the center of the universe.

Yeah as long as you bring some backup its no problem. I'm just saying I want to have some of those guys in my system to stop or slow down enemy forces so I don't have to go back and defend my systems all the time. Like why is my race the only one with one space ship.
And that's why the game is awesome. Fuck being deep. Fuck being complex. There are TONS of games that cater to that market, and this game NEVER promised to deliver complexity on every level (or it sure as hell wouldn't just be $50 and wouldn't be available any time this decade). This is what the game is about. There's some other stuff, too, sure, but...yeah.
I would really, REALLY appreciate it if a PA'er would post any pics of any of my critters they encounter. If you see an epic one of my creatures, I would love a pic and would love you for forever and a day.
If you see an Epic Shortenstout, I may have to do something crazy to show you my appreciation for getting a picture.

I'm getting really sick of buying PC games that have system requirements that my PC destroys, and going on to install the game and finding out I can't run it past medium settings.

How do you take in-game screenshots? I THOUGHT i've been taking some since I first started playing, but apprently the 'print-screen' button isn't the screenshot button.
Huh, apparently there's a button to record in-game video that I stumbled across. I have 3 seconds of footage of by UFO just sitting there above a city haha.
Edit: Whoa, it creates sharable png files of your city themes.
I would volunteer to run the Sporecast myself, but you can only do that from within the game (right now), so either someone who has the game now get on that, or we wait till Sunday.
Is the Sporecast or the Buddy system a better way to do it? I mean, the Sporecast would save a lot of effort, but my understanding of the Buddy system is that it basically updates itself.
And I second the request for in-game pictures of the skylars because...well....

Is it possible to share authorship of a Sporecast? For instance: Can we all act as authors and submit our favorite creations, instead of just filling it with everything we have?
I don't know. It's possible. For instance, Romantic Undead makes a sporecast. Then I subscribe. Now that I've subscribed, maybe you can grant authority or maybe I just have it to add anything I want to it.

The whole thing Neva was saying about constantly babysitting your planets is true and so annoying. It's easily ruining the Space game for me, everything up till then was awesome.
Also, it's annoying that every other planet gets a defence fleet. You'll probably be able to buy a fleet in an expansion pack.

To be fair, how did you play the game leading up to Space? I've heard about this happening a lot, but at the same time, I've watched streamers that weren't aggressive in earlier stages of the game and so they're having a pretty easy time in Space.
Or, in other words, are you reaping what you sowed back in earlier stages when you were being a dick to other cells, creatures, tribes, and civs?
Also, I think you underestimate: 1) how much I want this game and 2) how much I could give two shits less about it not being a "deep" game.

To add them, you have to have a pack slot available (right lower side of the screen) - then click a critter and do a social activity.
