Upgrading Graphics Card...on a AGP Proccesor.

With a number of awesome PC games coming out soon or already out(Spore, Left4Dead, Fallout 3) I want to update from my lame Radeon 9200 graphics card. Only problem is my motherboard still uses a AGP (Accelerated Graphics Port)

Now I kinda don't want to have to update every single thing and it looks like a few AGPs are still manufactured. Currently I'm looking at this one here.

My questions to our fine PAers is if this would work ok for what I want to do (moderate to high-end gaming), or should I just get a whole new setup? Or just buy a 360? :P

whole new setup. if you have the money it's your best bet. if you can't afford everything you can still get a mobo with integrated gfx that will preform better than your current setup until you can find a good pci-e card.

What's the rest of your rig look like? When will you next be able to upgrade? A new mobo with integrated graphics will likely outperform what you've currently got but it's not going to stand up well to your desired game list (honestly they're not good for much more than WoW). If the rest of your machine is sufficient, that new radeon will suit you well enough.

I recently upgraded to 2GB of RAM however I still have the same 3.0Ghz Pentium 4 processor the machine came with. I would probably have to get new power supply also but that shouldn't be too bad.

I would just get a 360. That or save up for a decent rig.

I can't even count the amount of times i've done these "temporary upgrades" only to realize that if I had just bought a decent computer in the first place I would have actually saved money. That's beside the fact that with a good computer you will actually be able to play new games without having to struggle through 20 fps with all settings on loaw

I'm in the same boat man.

    P4 3 ghz
    2 gig DDR ram
    6800 ultra (AGP)

Its gonna sputter hard on WAR I think.

I was checking out other AGP cards today at the store, I saw only 1 upgrade and it was like 160$ Canadian. Might as well just like save for a little while and get a "mid-range" comp for under a grand. It would run circles around the setup i have now I imagine.

seeing the specs i definitely would not bother with a slight upgrade, you need ddr2 (ddr3 was released recently and is becoming the new standard for intels new chip).. i would recommend doing your research and then purchasing from ncix or tiger direct.. they have really good prices, i bought my new quadcore chip, mobo, ram and ram from them for about 400ish... add on a pci-e card from futureshop for 150, and my new comp cost me roughly 550+tax if you already have a psu that can handle about 400watts, and a sata hdd then you'll be good to go with those parts.
