I hate how my 5 year old laptop is now getting too old to run iTunes. The visualizer is chuggy and goes at like 20 frames per second.

The grid view makes it impossible search my music.

And this genius thing is weird.

You think its time to get a new laptop?

my iTunes is for downloading podcasts and occasionally a song. My iPod is what plays them.
    My system is perfect.

The new itunes has a genius feature which automatically groups songs together based on whether it thinks those songs would sound good together.

The genius thing is like this thing where you press a button on a song and itunes creates a playlist of related songs for you.

But before you do that you have to let the itunes store read your entire library which takes like an hour.

My laptop is really hot right now and it is burning my pee pee

is the new iTunes really that much of program? I used to like it because iTunes was simple and could run easier than windows media player.

I was just about to download it to this new laptop but i'm not sure if I should get the new version now

The genius playlist thing is the dumbest thing ever. It recommends tracks from your own library for you. Well gee iTunes, thanks for letting me play my own songs. And the music store recommendation shit is just Apple trying to get you to buy songs from their store. It's no Pandora or Last.fm, that's for sure.

Last.fm does a better job of picking similar artists, but I guess Genius actually picks songs out for you. Where's this new visualiser?

I actually like the genius feature, because it's like a one-click playlist. So far its choices have been spot on.

Actually, that's what I've been doing with it. A spontaneous playlist maker is handy.

Genius is like a less accurate version of Pandora except instead of offering songs to listen to it offers you songs to buy from the music store.

what I use it for like mentioned is a spontaneous playlist

commenting on the fact that the style of the song I picked is actually on target with the rest of the songs

I do really like the genius playlist for background noise while I'm doing other shit.

I'm not pleased with this new way of viewing your library. Not pleased at all.

EDIT: yes I know you can change it but that doesn't mean I'm still not pleased. I was hoping for something better.

    I like the new view.

I think your mileage will vary if you like listening to full albums. I'm that kind of person.

Having them all there is quite nice. It also kinda facilitates the Genius stuff so I guess that's their other motive for it.
