I just bought a new USB headset and I'm disappointed to find that it doesn't work ingame in TF2. It works in the test mic option in steam settings but when I press my 'push to talk' key nothing happens ingame.
I followed the advice from this page but that didn't solve it.
I'm running under Vista.
Any help would be appreciated.
Edit: Solved. I'm a moron. I had set the push to talk key in steam but not in team fortress 2.
make sure youve got all the drivers well installed and that windows detects it.
start up the steam window, and start tf2. press shift + tab to get into the steam UI and go into settings>voice
there should be a detect microphone/or something option. then test it out
try that. it solved my problem that had to do with low mic volume. im under XP. i hope this helps
