How on Earth did X-Files survive on Friday?

I seem to recall something on Wikipedia about how it was huge at colleges, people would watch it before going out to party, etc.

I just came in here to post that trailer, as I just saw it for the first time.

    Wow.

You seriously do not spend the money to cut a totally new promo (with actual timely quotes) and go back and find footage that fits the quotes, and all that, for a show you have no intention of keeping on the air.

I work next to the guy who makes promos at the TV Station I'm at, and seriously, to do that took a whole bunch of man hours digging up old episodes and getting the music and putting it all together.

I honestly actually believe that they think this can do well on Fridays.

Or they just want to make sure we all know that the only reason the show will fail on Fridays is because we failed the show and it is definitely not Fox' fault for consigning it to a night when people just don't watch much tv anymore.

Guys, I want a show where
the Observer just goes around and fights crime all the time.

Also, WALTER IS FRIENDS WITH DR. JACOBY. The one other person who had watched Twin Peaks in my Fringe viewing group and myself high-fived.

Not really spoilery, but spoiler'd just in case:
Walter talking about causality with Doc Brown...

...might just make this the best show ever.

Also Doc's son dieing in 1985. No way that was coincidental.

Just watched last night's episode, and between Doc Brown in this episode and Theo Huxtable in Community this week, my meta cup runneth over.

    This was a masterful episode.

Yeah, it was pretty good even with it being mostly a big setup for a sip of milk. I guess they made a babystep with Peter and Olivia too. But best of all the ratings kicked ass. Hopefully it wasn't a fluke.

1.9. Which is great for a Friday show/Fringe.

With Chuck, Community, Parks and Rec, and Fringe all getting higher and/or great ratings, this has been an awesome week for shows that I love that are consistently under the possible threat of cancellation.

Now, if they hopefully can maintain those ratings in the coming weeks...

It seemed to me that Christopher Lloyd was channeling Jim Ignatowski from Taxi rather than Doc Brown.

That was quite a fun little episode. Although they didn't seem to be sure if it was the Aspirin or the milk which was interacting badly with the brain stuff.

Mr Back To The Future was an odd casting though.

It seemed to me that Christopher Lloyd was channeling Jim Ignatowski from Taxi rather than Doc Brown.

In my continuity Doc Brown got struck by lightning in 1955, lost his mind, wandered off and lived the life of a vagrant. During his travels he became addicted to drugs, later coming into the friendship of a small group of cab drivers at the Sunshine Cab Company in Manhattan.

The abrupt closure of the Sunshine Cab co. in 1982 was enough of a shock to his system that he remembered his previous life and returned to Hill Valley.

    Or something.

I have to be honest. I didn't even recognize him until I was halfway in the episode. I think it was nice subtle choice given the plot of the episode.
