Ok, so I went to Dragon Con in 2006, and attended a 24 hour film festival hosted by NeedCoffee.com. It was called the Gonzo film fest, and they showed shorts, movies, clips from movies, and basically a whole lot of cool stuff.
At one point, they showed an animated short that I have been trying to find for the past two years. I haven't been able to find it, and I thought that maybe someone here knew what it was called or had heard of it.
It's about a young boy who comes upon two robots, and tries to talk to them. They end up speaking only in some sort of quasi rube goldberg language: they knock things together in certain sequences to form sentences. There's a really cool few minutes of the kid learning, but then he messes up, and causes the death of both robots (well one gets killed and the other kills itself in despair). It was a really, really cool short and if anyone could help that would be great! Thanks

Oh yeah that's the one where the boy comes across two robots, and the robots communicate to him through elaborate Rube Goldberg constructions, where the only sounds are the musical intonations of items moving and crashing around, but each noise has words associated with it in a word bubble.
It ends with the boy accidentally "cursing" in his human language, frightening one robot and sending it off the edge of the platform. The other robot follows suit.

Is that the CG short?
Sorry, I have no idea.

That's it. I remembered it a little wrong though.
