EA/Harmonix can't be fucked releasing rockband 1 here until rockband 2 is out in America. They don't deserve my money. Fuck them.

    I feel your pain.

I'm still getting Rock Band though. :( I'm so weak and made of flesh.

I'll get GH4...then...maybe...if I can somehow get RB without giving them money. I'll do it. I mean. You know how much of a joke this whole situation was.

In this day and age it's almost unbelievable. We got absolutely shafted.

so, what would be the reason why I couldn't play RB2 with GHWT drums?

I could see the other way around (not enough inputs) but what is missing in this direction?

It's the principle of it all.

    It just stinks.

It's worth noting that people ar parties almost always pick up the Strat (RB) and hating it. They love the Les Paul. These are people who, by the way, do not play GH or RB regularly.

It's become sort of accepted however, the idea that Guitar Hero is for the score whores. People trying to get high scores on insanely difficult songs.

Rock Band is more or less bout just having fun and playing with folks you like. There are people who like to get the high scores on Rock Band, no doubt, but it's less extreme.

That's a comparison of Cherub Rock with Guitar Hero and Rock Band. If you can even say this, Rock Band has the correct charting. At the end of the day it's still a plastic instrument. But GH has so many extra notes. At about 0:44 they move the root note up (the low E string is still being played, which Rock Band continues to represent), at :49, GH just has a constant root note being played, when on the recording it's just heavy distortion that, yes, does sound like many notes are being played. Again, Rock Band charts this the 'correct' way.

There are a lot of guitar hero charts with extra notes and what have you, I don't know if that's a bad thing, but its something to consider.

I'm still waiting to see the charting difference on Love Spreads. If GH4 charting is the same as GH3's, it should be somewhat of a trainwreck.

    how?

I don't need two drum sets, but I want to play both games.

    What?

Oh, I thought that you were talking about the generally pretty shitty support EA is giving to Rock Band in Australia.

    My bad.

Why do I care about Australian support?

Do you not see my location?

I was hoping that I could find some compassion in your cold, capitalist heart.

    Bourgeoisie.

    A couple resources:

Instrument Compatability - Microsoft seems to have gotten something right in forcing everyone to play nice with each other. Too bad Nintendo and Sony couldn't get them to do that.

Also, for Wii and PS3 (not sure how that works) owners: http://www.maxconsole.net/?mode=news&newsid=31831

Adapter so that you can use your Wii guitar with either GH or RB.

I will RENT GH:WT and play it with my RB2 insturments, I don't expect it to be any more fun to play than RB2 though.

Seriously, activision's charting can suck a fuck.

and I doubt that GH will come up with anything as clever as BWT, but I'm just being presumptuous....

    What are you talking about?

Sony actually made their announcement before Microsoft did.

    It's even on that grid.

edit: if you're talking about the present generation, MSoft didn't force anytrhig. Harmonix knew how the GH guitars already worked, and added in support. MSoft simply refused to get involved. Both MSoft and Sony have insisted on cross compatability for ALl three games this coming generation, though.
