Both times I didn't get my original console back. Instead you get one that was repaired already. But it was quick and painless except they forgot to transfer my arcade licenses the 2nd time so I had to call tech support to have it done.

You can do it yourself on xbox.com now, which is pretty easy.
I'm in the process of sending my third, broken 360 in. This one was actually pretty reliable up until the disc drive decided to die on me. It won't open at all, and when it did in the past month, I got frequent DRE's.
No three red lights, surprisingly enough. I guess their new hardware is fairly reliable, though the disc drives are my new worry. Hoping the install feature comes soon so I can stop using the damn thing.

I had already used it from my first repair earlier on in the year. So I couldn't use it again.
I've only had it for a week so time will tell. So far it seems quieter then the last one I had. My first repair was because my original console RROD. After a couple months of usage the replacement console's hdmi port came loose causing the audio/video to cut in and out. Figured best get it repaired while I'm still under warranty.

Huh?
You can do it as much as you want.
That, and Microsoft now transfers the licenses automatically when you send the console in for a repair. You just need to re-download everything in your download history.
The tool can only be used once every twelve months.
I know they are supposed to reset my licenses but for some reason it didn't get done or work. I redownloaded all the games first thing when I got it. As soon as I signed off with my main account I couldn't play anymore.
Don't get me wrong guys. I have no complaints about the repair process. As it hasn't really been a hassle for me other then not having my xbox for like a week.

Oh great. nice.
Hope they actually bother doing it for me, otherwise I'd have to wait til next Fall to properly play my games.

I wonder if I could get arcade points instead of Gold for a month. I don't really play online.
