Little Mac seems to have aged quite a bit. (edit: nevermind, looks like it's just a weird blueish coloring to his hair)
I like the visual style there, hopefully it doesn't change much between now and whenever it eventually comes out.

Oh man, first game that's got me excited about the Wii for a while.
I'm really excited for this game, which is the main reason I'm dreading it.
I loved Punch Out as a kid and the very first thing I thought of when I saw Wii Boxing was 'take this further and put Little Mac in there and you can't lose.
Unfortunately, I thought the same thing about Wii Baseball and Super Mario Sluggers, and look how that turned out.
Looks neat, but is this going to be a retail or Wii Ware release?
Unless specifically noted that a game is WiiWare, it's probably a retail release.
It seems like some people don't understand that the Wii doesn't have as much storage space as the PS3 and 360, which might explain why some people thought Wario Land: Shake It was a WiiWare game.
I LOVED this game as a kid. I spent 2 weeks in hospital with a chest infection when i was like 10-ish and I spent the enrtire second week rtying to beat Soda Popinski, never beat him until i got it earlier this year on the wii. Can not wait.

What's wrong with Super Mario Sluggers? I thought the game was great. The only annoying thing is the A button makes you jump, and it always feels like you should be hitting that button to throw the ball.
I hope that the controls are a very tight version of Wii boxing if they go the motion route. I get super frustrated sometimes with Wii Boxing and usually end up just flailing around.
Interesting that the SNES version of Punch-Out is nearly forgotten. I thought it was a hoot mesself... I mean, you get to beat the snot out of Bob Marley and a juggling clown, fer chrissake.
Not that I have anything against Bob Marley... I dig his music. But the thought of him as a boxer makes me giggle.

Why the crap did I ever make my original name "cloudeagle?"
True, but I loved the badass way that Nick would pick himself off the mat like you never actually knocked him down, giving you that stare that said "you got lucky -- now I fuck you up".
EDIT: After watching he videos, apparently that was all in my head. I forgot about the "how could I have let that happen" bit.
I'm somewhat disappointed that the logo doesn't read "Punch-Out W!!" or "Punch-Out!!M" or something similar.
That's actually really clever Ben.

if the controls are like some of the configs in Victorious Boxers Revolution (Fighting Spirit) then I'll be happy. Also, those of you who are jonsing for something better than wii boxing go buy VBR, it's fun.
speaking of boxing games, where the hell is my next Fight Night game? Jesus EA turns every series into fricken yearly franchises, then takes a game that actually should be a yearly franchise and burn it down, then piss on the ashes.

The original Punch-Out ruled and I'm totally getting this new one

Maybe it's just the different angle, but Little Mac doesn't seem as little as he used to be.

I may have to dust off the Wii for this... I've been hoping for this since the Wii was released.
It's like what Facebreaker was going for but is failing to execute properly.
Well, Glass Joe is French, so it fits.
Does that mean Von Kaiser gets KO'ed in a shower of kraut and wursts?

Well, this is a Nintendo game so the booze will become grape juice or tea.

Or will they just skip the "dream bout" and end with Super Macho Man?
If they use Mr. Dream, I hope they completely redo his character model. He looked like a complete tool in the NES game.

I'd like at least half of the new opponents to be, uh, new.

This is one TOTP I do not regret.
Bald Bull
Mr. Sandman
Super Macho Man
In that order ololol. Seriously, relax! Game just got announced. Didn't you play Super Punch Out!!! ?
I did, and Rick and Nick Bruiser were some tough bitches.
What's wrong with Super Mario Sluggers? I thought the game was great. The only annoying thing is the A button makes you jump, and it always feels like you should be hitting that button to throw the ball.
I have great confidence that it will work.
Also vote for new boxer:
Not if you know how to deal with them properly.
Rick Bruiser in 10'50
Nick Bruiser in 7'49

I've been thinking the same thing.

Considering how awesome the Strikers games are, I expect this to be super awesome as well.
