Has anyone else played multiwinia?

I thought I'd bring it to your attention, the guys at introversion.co.uk who made uplink, defcon, and darwinia are at it again with multiwinia :)

It's a neat and fun game where you control a bunch of little sprites as they take over various points on the map to compete for objectives. It reminds me a bit of populus for those of you who remember it. As the name implies, it's multiplayer but the AI is good enough to have fun single player too.

Check out the demo at http://www.introversion.co.uk/multiwinia/

Has anyone else played this? What do you think?

    anyone?

Yeah. I've seen this same reaction on more than one forum. No-one has played the damn thing it seems. Myself included, although I will at some point once I get through warhead and colonisation.

It's something that the developers have mentioned, as well. There's been very little coverage in the media about it. It's a shame, because it looks to be pretty solid, and Darwinia was raved about and this is very much in the same vein.

We discuss it on this week's show, which will be up later today. We also had an interview a couple of shows ago with the devs if anyone's interested.

cool beans about this weeks show mentioning it. I bought the game and really love it. Darwinia in my opinion was a bit clunky in the control scheme and not as enjoyable, whereas multiwinia is very intuitive and easy to get in to.

Ya know, I was showing a buddy of mine this game earlier today. I don't play online (I am awful at strategy games, I always lose even on the easiest difficulty) but playing against the AI is fun enough for me. I loved Darwinia too.

Runs like shit on my comp. Maybe next life, or whenever I have money. Whenever comes first.

it's supposed to have pretty low requirements... basically if you can run 3d games at all it should run. right?

Tried the demo, has the same problem Darwinia has for me, destroys my eyes in minutes, I like the gameplay but sadly can't play it.

My eyes go all blood-shot and start hurting after about 20 minutes of play, only other game I know which does it is a cheap PS1 game called Starsweep.
