I need to go on a murderous rampage.

I need to fucking e-kill everything.

Suggestions please, for the life of me I can't think of anything on the PC save for FEAR where I can commit to pure unrelenting action. My memory seems to fail me in this regard as I've been out of my cycle of games for a while now. Perhaps suggest something new?

PC is the preferred/only platform I have at press time.

Annnnnnnd, go!

Edit: Seriously. Like God of War with guns. I need carnage.

I hear painkiller is nice. Crysis also has a good amount of violence, but i can't really recommend that i play like a half hour each week. Haven't even finished it. Dark messiah of might and magic has a pretty steady stream of violence.

    Good suggestions so far.

Not just blood or violence exclusively. Destruction in general. Though a Half-Life or Crysis kinda atmosphere would help. I might check out SMOD. I've played Crysis and it was awesome. Serious Sam looks toony but interesting, definitely gonna check it out.

Keep'em coming, I know they're out there. Have they release Halo 3 for the PC yet? I seem to remember dealing with a shit storm of enemies at times in campaign (not counting the Flood) and I like that kinda stuff with in the mood too.

How modern a game do you want? Because as far as pure carnage goes, I don't think you can beat Carmageddon. 2 is the best of the bunch. Lots of destructable terrain. Cars that bend and break in nearly any direction. Tons of hapless pedestrians to kill. Best game physics ever. The graphics are N64 era, though.

If you want newer, alot of the listed games are great, especially Painkiller.

Well, Gears of War and Devil May Cry 4 have PC versions.

    They run pretty well, too.

Gears of War isn't a great game to play when you want to wreck shit.

For one, its pretty tough, you spend alot of time dead. Also, there's only about 1 real firefight per act. Way too much downtime.

It is seriously awesome. Also, play about with making the shovel more powerful ( I like stab = 200 and swing = 120 for usual one hit kills but rarely one hit frags). Then you can jump into the middle of a group of enemies in slomo, and break their necks with a shovel / quick kick to the face (better still: duck before you kick them, then look up and kick so they get knocked about 50 metres into the sky... then switch to a gun and make them explode in mid air.)

Okay I'm going to go play more, I tihnk :)

I had a craving similar to yours yesterday and I quenched it with a healthy dose of Max Payne. Max Payne 2 to be precise. I've been quicksaving and replaying bits over and over just so I can get a different explodey/slowmo/badass result each time.

Those two MP mods may be the best things I have seen in my 20 straight hours of being awake. (As opposed to saying today, since it's 4 AM. 20>4)

Personally whenever I wanna have some killing fun, I play Psi-Ops: The Mindgate Conspiracy.

Read: Personally, whenever I wanna use pyrokinesis to set people on fire and throw them into other people with telekinesis while laughing maniacally and slamming the charred remains into walls and boxes for corpse-desecrating fun, I play with cheats on the first few levels of Psi-Ops: The Mindgate Conspiracy. I have it for PS2, but there's a PC version, and it's pretty old, so you should be able to run it, regardless I would think. Note: Don't play it for story. Don't play it for challenge.

Play it to have fun with MIND POWERS.

    You shan't be disappointed.

There's a game about autos and the grand theft that surrounds them that tends to have a slight rep for mayhem. In fact there are several of them. Why not get GTA3/VC/SA and then grab GTA4 when it hits on 11/4? Unmitigated havoc in any of them, if that's what you prefer.

Otherwise I second the Max Payne games, regardless of mods. It's so much fun to play the same rooms over and over again trying to make your carnage as cinematic as possible.

Your 'kill everything' statement reminds me. If you need theme music for your e-rampage then here you are.

Assassins creed is pretty fun when you dont play the game properly and do things like push hobos over rails into crowds or barrel into old ladies so they fall into the river or sneak up and neck stab random people for no reason.

There's also Turok if you can find it cheap enough its not bad, the knife fighting is pretty fun. Also there's Unreal Tournament, any of them (I'm shocked no ones mentioned this considering you literally can blow people into chunks and pink mist.) Soldier of Fortune 1 & 2 if you dont mind older games, there's a newer one out now but i have heard nothing but bad things.

Max Payne 1 Kung Fu mod was pretty amaziing. It's a shame the Max Payne 2 version wasn't even close to as good. Although Cinema 2.0 does go a little way to assuaging that at least, even if it's not the same thing.

I'll second the suggestion for DMC4. The PC version is a extremely good port, if you didn't know, you wouldn't even guess that it was a port. Just make sure you've got a gamepad to play it on.

One awesome thing with the PC version is that once you've completed the game, you unlock Legendary Dark Knight mode. For those who've played the game before, you'll know that typically you'll only really ever be facing off against maybe 4-5 enemies at once, max. On the PC version however, they decided to make use of all that extra processing power lying around and make LDK mode.

    So you want carnage?

    http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=oXj474hCYfc&fmt=18

Click the link and select the watch in hi-res version. For some reason youtube's weird about how it links the hi-res version of videos.

There's no sound, and he's cheating a little by using Super Nero (unlockable super character), but you get the idea.

I'd also recommend Shadowgrounds / Shadowgrounds: Survivor. Top-down Smash TV style shooters from indie dev Frozenbyte, they're really good, especially Survivor. If you were disappointed by Space Siege, the two Shadowgrounds games are easily available on Steam and Impulse (I'd recommend Impulse since that's DRM free), and not only play better, but look better as well (if perhaps, slightly less in-depth in the RPG department), which is quite an achievement from an indie dev.
