I don't know if Spidey can do much here.

    He's kind of out-classed.

Not to mention he's the only one out of the group who isn't a member of a team he can turn to for advice and/or extra goodies.

EDIT: Here's an interesting question: What happens if one of Sue's invisible forcefields touches one of Blink's portals?

I don't know if outclassed is the right word. He's a physical fighter up against three people who render physicality mostly irrelevent.

    okay here's the deal

Spider-Man can't hurt Kitty or Blink so much, but they sure as hell can't beat him in a fight

so what I think's going on is Sue and Spidey are gonna team up. They know each other a hell of a lot better than the mutie scum. I think sue can contain kitty and Spidey can definitely take blink. She's The Spot with a better image.

    Spidey can definitely take blink.

I don't see how. At worst he force her to port out, and that's assuming she can't hit him with one of her shards.

Well, look at it this way. The people in this fight are pretty evenly matched outside of Invisible Woman. Any of the remaining three could win it.

But in the next round Blink is the only one with a real shot. Well, maybe Kitty maybe.

But Spidey is boned against any of the heavy hitters coming up.

Dude he already showed up to help her in round 1 I think.

I should go back and check on the recap.

    Edit:
BenUrich.jpg Match L saw the team of Shadowcat and Cyclops nearly make it all the way through to the next round. Kitty managed to convince Kate Bishop to go home, although it took a few kicks to the head to drive the point home. Sunfire tried to ally himself with the two X-Men, but Uncle Sam managed to put him down with ease. Cyclops blasted Sam back, allowing Dredd to put him down with ease. Dredd aimed a ricochet shot at Cyclops’ visor, but Kitty managed to phase him through while Lockheed distracted the Judge with a blast of flame. She then disabled his weapons moments before Cyclops hit him with a massive blast. Lockheed attracted the attention of Smax, but Green Lantern quickly removed both Smax and Lockheed from the arena. And enraged Kitty rushed him, leaving Cyclops undefended from a quick putdown from Green Lantern, leaving him and Shadowcat to advance to the next round. Jessica?

    So he was there.

    You are correct.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spot_%28comics%29
His preferred method of attack is to surround his opponent with numerous spots, allowing him to punch or kick them from unexpected angles across great distances. This proved very effective against Spider-Man as his spider-sense was unable to detect incoming attacks from another dimension, effectively negating this ability.

At least I'm assuming it is The Spot robo is talking about.

So the consensus is Sue, and then a 3 way brawl for 2nd?

I'm leaning towards kitty for #2. No one can touch her as she just calmly walks up, grabs them, and pulls them into the ground (or some variant involving sneaking up as necessary). Let go, rinse, and repeat.

She could, if she wanted to just port his head off. And I'd put Blink first if she pulled that sort of thing regularly. But instakills are boring, so I'll assume she'll fight more standardly.

Spider-Man would either team up with Sue or Shadowcat. Both are possible, I think.

EDIT: Also Sue could bring one special item right? Well she would bring a machine for controlling giant bees that Reed had laying around somewhere. So Sue advances, at least.

Spider would probably choose Sue as his person to talk to pre-fight.

    Be all truce like.

Together they take out blink. Shadowcat takes out Sue (her powers are a nice counter to Sue's, and Shadow can't do much at all to Spidey). Spidey and Shadowcat advance.

This should have been the arena with the Baxter Building in it. Everyone here would be able to get in. I'd love to see a four-way brawl in the Baxter Building while it's security system trys to put down everyone.

Yeah, I guess it would give Sue an unfair advantage, but we all know she's advancing anyway.

So, yeah. Sue for first. Kitty actually can't do much damage here to either Spider-Man or Blink; it's incredibly easy for both to avoid her, either by webslinging or 'porting.

Spider-Man might be able to come in second here simply because the strongest player (The Invisible Woman) knows him best. As others have suggested, a team-up is possible. For now, I'm going with a Sue/Spidey team for the win.

But no one else in this round can exploit those weaknesses.

This round is a tough one. 3 of the combatants are hard to hit, but none of them are all that strong physically. None of then can go toe to toe with Spider-Man physically, I think he could take out blink and he is probably a better fighter than Kitty with his spider reflexes and spider sence.

Honestly, Spidey has the leg up here simply because he can outmanuever everyone else. That and his spidey sense, surprise, can be used to detect when someone is A: Teleporting B: Going to become tangible from intangible and C: Invisible

I could actually see Spider-man advancing since he is the only one in the tournament who will know when to hit people and where they will be to hit them (assuming he can sense blinks ports, he seems to be able to detect some teleporters but not all).

I'm still undecided though between Spidey, Blink and Sue. Kitty I don't think has a good enough chance this round.

I'm a little confused about how Spider-Man can find Sue. His spider-sense will tell him where she is? I thought it was a way to pretect him from danger, not a radar. If she's tossing forcefields from directions that don't lead back to her, how's he going to know where she is?
I think Spider-Man could move on on the back of being much faster, more agile and stronger than Blink, making closing with him a mistake, and Sue going after Kitty rather than Spidey because she knows him. Kitty's nearly impossible to hurt by these people, but she has no way to get near them considering the mobility advantages everyone has over her.

Spidey's stronger than Blink, and might be more agile, but Blink's the fastest person in this fight. She could react faster than Hyperion, and if I'm not mistaken that's a guy with actual superspeed.

Spidey sense might be able to tell him where Sue is, in a general direction sort of way. But it's pretty unlikely to be able to give him enough info to actually hit her, not that Spidey has any ability to hurt Sue anyways.

I think trying to port Sue's field would move the field, which would then dissipate due to Sue being unable to hold something up when she doesn't know where it is. Meanwhile, the sudden change in her field's location could stun her in the same way she's stunned when a field is broken.

And Spider-Sense is stupid strong (inconsistently written, so it can probably do anything), but I still maintain that, since he said it doesn't work with teleporters, that it doesn't work with teleporters.

Whether Spidey can sense a teleporter coming or not isn't actually important at all, since he'll still be notified of danger when the teleporter wants to attack, allowing him to move out of the way with the relative speed and agility of a spider, which is many times that of Blink.

And he will definitely notice the teleporting spikes.

And Spidey actually can detect teleporters. But it still doesn't matter.
