I did a search of the forum but didn't find what I was looking for in the results, so I'll ask and hope I didn't miss the thread:
I am currently stationed in Germany and have bought a PS3. I wish to sign on to the playstation network, however as soon as I switch my location to Germany it switches language to German as well and gives me no other options (eg English).
Does anyone know if this can be adjusted?
Otherwise my option would be to tell the network I am in the UK just so I can get the thing in English. I would rather not do this as I can see me running into trouble with needing a UK credit card etc etc and maybe getting pulled up if they check the signal location.
Any advice out there? I would be quite happy to set it up as being in Germany if I knew I could switch network settings to English (system defaults are English).
Well wherever your credit card is from is where you should set it up for. But yeah I can't think of anyway to get around the psn language barrier other than going through another language to see what's what.
Might want to try calling technical support see if there is some workaround you can do.

Yeh that's the problem, I have been in Germany for 10 years now and I *just* decided a couple of months ago that there was no need for me to keep my UK accounts and cards anymore :x
I can speak German and such, but for some reason I don't like gaming in a language other than my mother tongue :-/
I'll try an email to tech support.

from experience they don't really care where you are in relation to your PSN "location"
I personally have accounts for North American and Asian regions and have felt no wrath.
