Is there a big difference between the two?

Im looking on newegg and most of the 20.1 cost more than the 22's, why is that?

20.1"

22"

At first I was looking into getting two 19" LCDs but now I think I'm just gonna settle with a 22 widescreen depending on what this thread reveals to me.

Do a barrel roll.

Well, it's a diagonal measurement, so it's non-linear area growth.

That means that going from 20 to 22 inches adds substantially more screen area than going from, say, 15 to 17 inches.

    Is that what you're asking?

Yea, I really just didn't understand why they were the same resolutions.

Also is there a reason why some of the 20.1" are priced so much higher than the 22"?

Have you checked contrast ratios, refresh rates, types of inputs?

Look at the pixel pitch rating. The 20.1" units have a pitch of 0.258mm, the 22" units 0.282mm. In other words, they can have the same resolution because the individual pixels on the 20.1" units are smaller.

So which one is better? The 22?

Idunno, I really couldn't say. Some people might prefer the finer pixels on the 20.1", others might prefer the larger size of the 22" (even though you can't actually display more information on it). I'd recommend taking a look at them in person.

I know NEC makes some displays aimed at professional use - they have very precise colour reproduction mainly, so that might be one reason.... but the ASUS...

hmm... it has a built-in webcam, so maybe that's it?
