Sony E-reader Question

My dad's just bought an e-reader, but he was wondering, if he has a book in pdf format, with tibetan characters, would that work?

I'm assuming, if it was as a word doc, then it'd take one look at the tibetan and think wtf.

I'm not sure how pdfs store what's in them. I was under the impression that each page was an image so it'd work, but that might be completely wrong.

So can this be made to work?

It should work, because pdf files have the fonts they use embedded into them. They can be full page images, but that's usually only the case in scanned books, normally they're not.

Awesome, I'm pretty sure my dad was planning to use scanned books anyway, so should work on both fronts.

    Thanks for the help.
