I have a couple of problems with my laptop, not sure of how to phrase them succinctly in a thread title.
ISSUE 1:My cookies seem to only stay active as long as my browser remains open (or maybe as long as my computer isn't restarted, not sure). I have my browser (Firefox) set to accept cookies, including third party items. However this 'reboots' when Firefox is restarted. For instance I just now turned on my laptop, started my browser (Google homepage) and under tools > options > privacy > show cookies... only Google and the PA forums show up. How do I get my other log ins to stay... logged in?
ISSUE 2: Occasionally I am afflicted with this problem. There are three symptoms:
-The 'ctrl' key no longer functions (at least not in VLC, where I have it mapped to seek a minute forward or backward, depending upon the directional key I hit).
-I'm no longer permitted to scroll in web pages with my up/down arrow keys. I know this is something that happens when you hit f7 (figured that out a while ago with some Googling after I accidentally hit f7), but f7 (caret browsing) doesn't cause the first or third issue.
-I can't freely select items in Explorer. The explorer window 'locks' on a certain item, disallowing me from selecting one further down the window. Example: I open a folder that possesses episodes of Dexter. I want to watch episode 7 so I attempt to highlighy episode 7 (the 7th item). It selects all 6 episodes before it, too, and I can't deselect them.
The strangest thing about issue 2 is once it starts acting up it seems to... fix itself arbitrarily. After a little while all three symptoms disappear at the same time.

EDIT: Except the cookies one. Look for a setting that is to do with how long to keep cookies for.
I got a screencap of my security page on FF, hopefully this might reveal any of my mistakes:
Any ideas? This is definitely the more pressing issue... I have to sign into (again) several different webforums, bank accounts, email etc. every time I use my computer It's getting pretty annoying.
Of those, some expire tomorrow morning, some expire at end of session, some expire in 1 year, some expire in 2 years.
