The latest Joe Fridays over at Newsarama has previews of the Marvel solicits for Feb-2007 and now they're brought to you. I'm sure as you look them over, you'll notice a 'subtle' thread between some of the covers. :)

    Would've preferred Haredevil.

This seems an appropriate moment to smugly brag that I own the original page of that Sean Philip's piece. It's so pretty.

Why does the concept of Ham exist in a world of intelligent pigs? We don't have a word for processed human meat. Are they cannibals?

The real question is, why are the two statues behind Deviled Ham statues of humans, when he lives in a world of anthropomorphic animals?

Manifest's logic is flawless. I -love- the black costume and I don't care what has to be done to bring it about.

I think Spidey should "switch" back and forth from time to time the ol' "red&blue" suit with the black suit. (Honestly I wish he would just keep the black forever but I'm trying to be "diplomatic.")

Newsarama's added a second, more official preview for the Feb-07 solicits today. This one involves most if not all the Civil War-related titles. However, as you'll see for yourselves, there's not that much information to be gained from the solicits they allowed to see print. :)

Yes. The man is a terrible artist and the fact that he gets all this work despite the fact that he is OBVIOUSLY a terrible artist with no understanding of aesthetics of any kind offends me on an existential level.

Storm's not an X-Man anymore. Cyclops basically fired her in House of M: The Day After. Now she's in Black Panther, since she's Black Panther's wife now.

Speaking of how bad the Black Panther is, did anyone read the most recent issue? The one with Namor?

Talk about murdering characters. Namor asking for T'Challa's help, Storm whining about not getting enough us-time with BP. Terrible.

I won't lie and say I'm familiar with Michael Turner's work but based on that Storm vs Thor pic I give him high scores. Sadly the French judge did not score him at all well, but that's no surprise. Fucking French, always so snobby they be, says I. Yar.

Every once in awhile, Turner's capable of doing something cool looking, but most of the time, especially when it comes to interiors, he can't produce anything of any real quality. Even people who ape him, like Talent Caldwell, are better artists than he is.

This would have been the perfect place for a Jack Ryder picture.

Also, Turner, to me, is kind of like Humberto Ramos or Joe Mad. Occassionally they'll get a project that suits them perfectly, and absolutely draw the fuck out of it. And then sometimes they do something that, for whatever reason, looks completely retarded with their style. I think Turner should get a little leeway for having cancer and all though.

USAgent. And Beta Ray Bill, Arachne (Julia Carpenter Spider-Woman), and Talisman are the confirmed people on the cover. And Guardian, but I think Oeming implied that it isn't Mac in the Guardian suit.

Turner draws girls in a way I find very annoying. They are usually almost naked, they have glossy blank stares, and their torsos are about a foot longer than they should be.
