Cause Ember Island Zuko was already backwards.

Just the wrong side. As in - the guy in the poster had the scar on the opposite side as the real Zuko.

This show is the best show. (Well, maybe not, but it was damned good)

What's the first really kickass episode of Avatar? I'm thinking about getting my girlfriend started on it, but the first few episodes don't really match up to what comes after. I'm thinking maybe start around The Great Divide, which leads nicely into The Fortune teller and The Blue Spirit. From then all the way into Season 2 every episode becomes a must-watch.

"The Southern Air Temple" and "Avatar Roku" are both pretty emotional episodes, and the latter is important for giving Aang his mission. But the show doesn't really start for me until "The Storm."

Also, since it's the big backstory episode for both lead characters, it's probably the best introduction for the series.

I liked how each new member managed to add a new dynamic to the team (figuratively and literally.) Most cartoons can't handle more than 3-4 main characters without having to start doubling up on personalities and adding nothing new to the group.

I wish they had done a fourth season that explored the possibility of a sexually confused teenage boy.

He could be Erin, the cockbender.

Oh yeah I love that about Avatar. I hate the American cartoon standard of not being able to say kill or die or whatever and having to replace it with destroy and perish and crap like that. I've been watching TMNT 2k3 lately and when they're forced to say that it just breaks up the flow of the dialogue and makes it sound stupid.
