So, I downloaded Darwine for my Macbook. I attempted to open it initially, and it said that I required X11. So, off I went to the interweb and downloaded it, attempted to install it when, lo and behold, it said I had it already...o_O Well, here I am now with several (ok, two) apps that won't work, but one says it needs the other. Please help...please...*twitch*

Honestly, I don't know. I own a mac, but I'm a complete newbie when it comes to it. I only know that the X11 from apple's site doesn't work. Sorry. You should try asking over here, those guys have always been a big help when I've needed it.
have you tried fink? http://www.finkproject.org/
It has a wine build and has instructions for getting the most compatible x11 for its stuff. And once fink is up, installing wine should be a matter of typing "fink install wine" at a command prompt.
You may try first just using its instructions for the X11 it suggest, Xquarts it looks like its called.
