GLC was so owny. It was really good!

Final Crisis was good too but I like Morrison and don't really care if he "fucks" up the DCU because it's usually a hell of a ride. And even Grant's worst ideas are leagues ahead of any of Didio's "direction".

I'd like Final Crisis a lot more if it had fewer points of view per issue.

Yeah it feels really disjointed with all the quick cuts

Should have been an issue longer, like how Secret Invasion should have been an issue shorter

This is in general one of my biggest problems about almost everything Morisson does. He has great ideas but he stuffs so many of them into everything that almost none of them are ever given the attention/room to develop that they need and it tends to feel mish mashed and underwhelming on a whole.

I read FC6 and didn't have a fucking clue what was going on, the art was so bad I couldn't recognise most people and the story seemed to be all over the place.

Usually I can handle it, but needless to say the problem has been exacerbated by the fact that the cast of this story is pretty much the entire DC Universe.

It's not nearly as big a deal as Final Crisis, but the last page of Captain Britain and MI:13 was pretty epic.

I got this Blade: Black and White trade a couple months ago out of a bargain bin at a local shop, and I really enjoyed it. I knew he was in that series now, so I was already tempted to read it.

Now, I just have to. It must be done. Damnit.

It's been pretty awesome since its Secret Invasion debut.

You may want to read this first, though, to get a grasp of who Pete Wisdom and some of the other characters are.

my main problem with Final Crisis is that it should be fucking amazing

all the ideas being thrown around before it came out were awesome

but then I look at it and it's this coddled together comic that isn't very well executed

I just think back to when they announced that Morrison and Jones were gonna do this thing and how excited I was that everything was gonna rock again at DC and it's just not happening

    Re: GLC
I think its really cool what they are doing with the Star Sapphires. In the past, they were very one dimensional. Their sole purpose seemed to be randomly showing up to seduce Hal Jordan and cause a little chaos. But they are moving past that, and it seems as though they can derive some pretty powerful constructs from their rings. Plus the ability to teleport or whatever it was she did to the Heart In Trouble could be pretty handy.

yeah GLC is definitely my favorite DC book right now

Patrick Gleason killed on this issue and the new plot with Daxam is going to be awesome

also I hope whoever said it was right about Kyle becoming a blue lantern to be with Natu

Also, how did Batman get to Darkseid I thought he was still being brainwashed.

Batman #682 and #683 were Final Crisis tie-ins. Basically,
Batman wasn't really being brainwashed, they were trying to duplicate his mind and place it within an army mass-produced bodies. While they were doing this, they were distracting him with memories, some false, of his life. Half way through, he figured it out, made the mass-produced army kill themselves and escaped.

It also had a flashback where he put the bullet in his pouch shortly before Granny grabbed him.

    Anyway, Final Crisis is fantastic.

I know I should be used to comics doing shit like this, but it still bugs me when important plot points aren't in the main book. Kinda makes jumping into a new universe a bit hard.

To be fair, those are really the only Final Crisis tie-ins without the actual name in the title. And they do make a point of mentioning what happened in the Batman tie-ins in FC #5.

Pretty much. I wonder what it will take to show them that this law is fucked up? I mean, that was a few hundred lantern resignations on the spot there, I wonder if they expected any to resign at all? (Part of me thinks they didn't, they are arrogant little dudes after all).

    Still
This Soranik/Kyle relationship is pretty awesome. Here's hoping it develops into something more.

Didn't know it'd LITERALLY be a new Krypton.

I like that Superman comics have been consistently good for a while now.

    Also. Kara's mother?

By the way, how does all this fit with Final Crisis and the rest of the DCU?

Moment of the week was finally realizing I had never read Miracleman. Tried to hunt down back issues or TPBs but only to find that the 'holy-crap-expensive-out-of-print' gods have made this venture annoying. So, for the first time, resorted to downloading all the Moore / Gaiman issues online.

God I love Moore. Such an amazing run with the character, which I read right through and afterwards promptly bought a copy of Miracleman #15 locally for $120 cnd. That was epic.

There's really no other way for a new-to-the-hobby reader to get those stories, though. Not justifying it, just saying.

Also, I'm like 99% sure that Gaiman endorsed downloading the issues he wrote, if I'm remembering his blog correctly.

Technically, Batman's not dead...he's just sort of no longer alive. Darkseid hit him with the ole' "Death that is Life" shot

You can buy them if you're willing to invest the GNP of a small African county into finding them and convincing the current owner(s) to part with them.
