What is shipping differential?

Question that has been bugging me lately, I work o/n stocking at target and when they offered the job they told me I'd be making 8 an hour plus $1.25 shipping differential. Anyone know what that means exactly?

    They probably said shift differential.

    If you work really late/really early, they pay you more.

    Just for future reference, whenever a potential/new employer says something which the meaning is unsure, ask them. Right away. It's OK to be uninformed (asking questions shows interest, too), it's not OK to cause them a hassle later when they have to re-iterate or correct something that you weren't clear about.
