Late to the fray: Left 4 Dead demo

I know that Valve's Left 4 Dead has been out for quite a while now, but until recently I was too chicken to even consider playing it (I'm very easily scared - case and point: scared by Frank in Donnie Darko). But now that it's been recommended a few times by some people on this forum I thought I might check it out. But I don't wanna spend 30-odd quid on something I might not like.

So I was wondering if anyone here could possibly direct me to a place where I can download a demo of Left 4 Dead on PC (360 aint online yet. stupid overpriced thingie-ma-bob). Thanks in advance for your local know-nothing idiot, KeyScourge

    Well that sucks major ass. I really need to get up to date on games so I don't miss crap like this

    It was really more of a pre-release beta. Generally Valve don't do demo's (at least not permanent ones) for their multiplayer games.

    1) Everyone is scared of Frank in Donnie Darko. Motherfucker is creepy.

    2) L4D isn't very scary. It is a sublime experience of shooting zombies and running from large zombies.

    Finally somebody agrees with me on this subject! Everyone else I know just calls me a pussy. My mate is obssessed with it so me and my guys end up watching it really often and whenever I shrink back into the sofa when that demonic long-eared motherfucker comes on-screen they all laugh and call me a pussy. Then they swiftly recieve a pillow in their face

    Something about that "Why are you wearing that stupid man suit?" line freaked me out.

    Nah I agree, Frank is unsettling as hell. Left 4 Dead has moments where it startles me, like when I enter a room that I was sure was empty only to have a hunter jump me.
