For those of you who have never heard of it, Red Dwarf is a sitcom set three million years in the future that follows Dave Lister (the last surviving human), Arnold Rimmer (a hologram of Lister's former crewmate), Cat (a creature that evolved from Lister's pet cat), and Kryten (an android). It's also one of the funniest shows ever made by the BBC.
I really want to know where these episodes will be picked up from, especially as they will not be aired by the BBC. The end of the last season kind of leaves it in a cliffhanger.

I like to pretend that the series ended after "Out of Time", the last episode of season 6.
almost everything up to that episode was great
almost everything after that episode was garbage.
In August 2008, Robert Llewellyn appeared on Seattle public television station, KCTS 9. In an interview, he revealed that BBC Worldwide, in collaboration with another party, had invested in one hour of new Red Dwarf to be filmed in early 2009.[42] Grant Naylor Productions announced that it had been "on the cards" since February 2008.[43] It subsequently transpired that UKTV channel Dave will screen four new 30-minute specials to celebrate the twenty-first anniversary of the show.[44] The new episodes form part of an effort by Dave to screen more original programming, instead of just repeats.[45]
It was subsequently announced in January 2009 that the new special was to be a brand new two-part story titled Red Dwarf : Back to Earth, broadcast over the Easter weekend of that year along with a "making of" documentary and a one-off entitled Red Dwarf : Unplugged.[46] Unplugged was described by Craig Charles as "just the four of us - and some chairs - trying to improvise, or rather trying to remember, classic scenes".[47] For the plot of the Specials Lister Finally Gets his wish to go home in four new episodes on channel Dave at Easter — but there is a twist. Chris Barrie, who plays hologram Rimmer, said: “Yes, Lister’s dream is about to come true. But like everything in Red Dwarf, nothing is straightforward.” The specials mark a decade since the cult series ended. Red Dwarf: Back to Earth will premier on Dave on Friday 10th April at 9pm.
ive never seen this show in any order
just random episodes here and there with no coherent structure or continuity
if they get back to earth after 3 million years i wonder what it will be like
probably some sliders shit where they enter some time loop and get back the same time they left and its like it never happened

man, don't look for the origins of the word "smeg" on wiki, you'll be tricked into having a big ol' dick slapped up on your monitor
Craig Charles has revealed that he will play several characters in the upcoming Red Dwarf episodes for the Dave channel.
The Coronation Street star, who will reprise his role as last human Dave Lister said "I can't really give the storyline away but it's a fantastic one.
"It's really quite weird and sees me playing quite a few characters, some of them I've already played on television. That's all I can say."
Charles claimed that he is "really looking forward to doing it", before adding that the rest of the Red Dwarf cast have not aged as well as him. "It starts filming in January and the rest of them all look ancient! I'm the only one that doesn't look like they've aged," he said.
Reading Red Dwarf in class (not assigned, my choice) in grade 7 was the first time I ever lost it completely and laughed out loud from something I'd read.
It was the bit where Lister's on Mimas driving the hopper and drops the cigarette down his pants, christ that killed me.
