The Guiding Principles and New Rules document is now in effect.
Everything else is very strangely quiet, there is no music, and they seem to have invented a magically silent helicopter for your squad.
Futzing with the audio options in the game didn't help. Anyone know what might be up?
Uh...try this:
double click the volume icon (assuming Windows).
Click Options -> Properties
Make sure "Playback" is ticked, and check all the boxes, hit ok.
Check that all the sliders are at the top and only the mic is muted.
I've had problems before where some program will set the wave slider down lower, then some sounds in a game are all quiet while others are normal.
Beyond that, driver problems? Some sounds (like voice comms from teammates) may not be played "in the world" and only play on the center channel (if you're using 5.1, 7.1, whatever), that channel may be set lower for some reason. If you're using an Audigy variation, you can adjust the speaker volumes individually under Audio Properties (at least the new drivers, the older ones didn't do it).

I dunno, kind of a weird problem you got there.
