Multiple 360s & one router

Here’s what’s going on:

Right now, I have my own apartment. I have an older-model Linksys WRT54GS running HyperWRT. My 360 is connected to this router. I have Xbox Live’s ports forwarded to it, and it works flawlessly on Live. I have a similar setup at my friend’s place; he’s using some D-link “gamer” router that we found on sale, but it’s basically the same setup.

In a couple months, we’re moving in together, and so we’ll be sharing an internet connection and a router. Probably mine, since the custom firmware is freaking awesome and substantially more flexible than the D-link’s firmware.

What I’m worried about is the ability to connect multiple 360s through the same router and still maintain a high-quality connection to Live for both of them. Is it possible?

I ask, because I’ve never seen a router that allows for forwarding ports to multiple private IP addresses, and it seems like that would cause all sorts of problems if it were possible. And I’m not sure how else it would work.

The only other alternative I can think of is getting a second IP from the ISP and running two routers, but frankly, I’d like to have us both on the same router so that we can do QoS.

Suggestions?

Somewhat related: depending on the layout of the apartment, I might wind up getting the wireless add-on for the 360. How’s the performance? Is it noticably worse than a wired connection?

You won't have to open ports to have both 360s work on Live behind the router however, if you get all the ports for Live in a rule (not sure how Linksys does it exactly) then you can establish a QoS setting and set the Live ports for the highest priority and ensure good priority.

I have two xbox 360s running on the same router (linksys/dd-wrt like you) without an issue. i didn't change anything for the xbox (only port forwarding i have is port 80, vnc and ichat forwarding turned on)
