Blowing out your calve...

Or almost.

So I was getting some cardio yesterday and after 30 minutes on the elliptical I jumped on the treadmill, after a couple seconds of running I could feel my left calve twitch and pull 3 times after which I slowed down, got off, stretched it out, walked around for a minute then got back on the treadmill and finished my next 30 minutes but at a lower speed.

My question is if you stretch it out after something like that is it ok to run on it again? I've been making really good progress on getting in shape and don't want to suffer an injury that will put me up for any time.

Thoughts?

With muscles you go on how much pain you are in. You did the right thing by stopping and stretching and then taking it easy for a couple minutes. If it didn't hurt anymore then you are fine.

If it hurts now then you might have done something and you should probably take it easy and ice it for a while. Of course, if you are just a little sore that could be because you worked out. Honestly if you have to ask you are more than likely fine.
