I just watched The Dark Knight for the first time two nights ago. That only made this episode that much better.

Dude, I really wanted to know who Mysterio was.

Where the money goes, the rapings start

Also I only noticed it for a split second, but at Coonicon '09 was there a poster that was the cover of Frank Miller's The Dark Knight with the Coon on it instead?

Pretty good. I watched it on SouthParkStudios. I was more impressed with how the player automatically switches to a 720p stream when you go fullscreen. Or a 480p one when yo view in the window. Looks so amazingly good now.

Did something change at southparkstudios.com since the first episode of this season was uploaded? That one played fine for me, but I can't play a single episode on the site! I just get a black space where the video should be. Right-clicking shows that Flash has loaded, but there's no video or even an error message...

It wasn't Kyle and it won't be Stan, Stan seems to be largely passive,t oo passive to get involved in super hero fights, its the kind of thing he'd think is stupid. Isn't Butters either obviously. Definitely not Tweek.

So it was Craig, Clyde, Kevin, Kenny or that one on the fight right whose name was blocked by the comedy central logo. Kenny has no luck and would have died, and Craig likes giving the finger, so I guess I'll go with Clyde.

This was a great episode. Last week was terrible (may have been compounded by my lack of jonas brothers awareness) and really annoying to sit through. Hopefully this one means they're back on track.

    It's not for me?

    I dunno.

I never knew South Park catered exclusively to people who enjoyed comics.

I remember them cracking jokes about The Cure once. I love The Cure.

I just didn't think there were that many good jokes in this one. Yeah, the cracks at Cartman were alright, but nothing new. The big reveal at the was clever, but not ball bustingly funny.

The only thing I thought was funny was Cartman constantly breaking character whenever he'd get pissed off.

Then did you not like The Watchmen or Dark Knight? Theres no reason to not like this episode. If you came to me and said "I didn't like 'mystery of the urinal deuce'" I'd say "Sure, what the fuck is up with that episode" but the kids playing super humans and parodying some good films at the same time? Excellent.

Nah. Didn't really care for Dark Knight.

    Not saying it was bad.

I'm not a comic person at all (though I love the Goon and will see that movie). I'm not much of a movie watching person either.

But the ep wasn't really that funny. People seem to be liking it because it parodied Watchmen/Dark Knight, but joke wise, I do agree there really wasn't much to it.

Yeah, it wasn't all that good. I don't think that the episodes where they parody a movie/book aren't all that good anyway. It can never get as bizarre and funny as their world commentary episodes.

True, although I don't know if that's maybe just because Cartman's presentation was dull as fuck, but good observation. Also, Clyde's voice is so nasally that I can't imagine him pulling off that voice.

I figure Craig is too obvious to be him.

Out of all of the suspects, I feel like Kenny is the most obvious, since we hardly ever hear his un-muffled voice and all they saw of Mysterio's real identity was his eyes. The problem with that is if he really was Kenny, there's no way Kenny would have survived that episode. A funny ending, if it had been Kenny, would have been someone shooting him before taking off the mask. Then we all would have known who it was.

Maybe in future episodes, someone will be missing from Garrison's class which will tell us who it is.

    Episode was good mindless hilarity.

I got a kick out of the scene where they are all fighting next to the TNT and as Cartman comes up to "help" Mysterion someone in the crowd yells out "Be careful Bruce Vilanch, Professor Chaos is there!" or something to that effect.

Plus I loved how the entire town knew who the Coon was. "Hey aren't you that fat kid who...?"

For some reason southpark always seems to disappoint me, like they have a great concept for a joke, but they totally ruin the execution.
This episode for example, with the whole 'blow up a hosiptal' thing, having Butter's interaction with Carman just seemed forced. If they'd have played it a lot more seriously the episode could have been a lot better.
