what i hated most about lvling my magus on Ungrim->Iron Rock (only got to 25) is that the server was low pop, so there were hardly ever any SCs and no PQs going on, and the solo questing/grinding was pretty old by 25.

on dark crag, playing order, you could do SCs till your sphincter hurt at any time of any day. it was way better leveling while questing when you know you can get an SC every 5-10 minutes.

also, i hope this change doesn't hurt RP gain too much in lower tiers, as I never had good luck keeping my RR up to lvl anyways.

I'd reccomend if you start out a new character, to ignore pve and quests for xp/renown and go straight to scenarios. Following this, RR gain at lower levels has never been a problem for me. I usually start hitting scenarios right at rank 1, since by the time I'm done with the first one, I'll be at rank 2, rr1 (or rr2 if I'm lucky). Once I break rank 13 or 14 it starts to slow down, and by rank 20 it's a crawl.

The only character I've been able to keep renown even with rank is my DoK, but that's because healing nets renown as much as the other stuff.

My last couple of toons have had RR equal to character rank almost all the time by focusing on open RvR. Proportionately speaking, you gain way more RP than XP when you capture keeps or BOs. The downside is you tend to level pretty slow. But I dig open RvR for the most part, so I don't mind.

I did this on my Warrior-Priest and she not only was she two RR behind her level, but also didn't have any money for a mount by 20. In order to do this you have to ditch all quests and just RvR. It was fun, but I think it's kinda fucked up that it penalizes you so much.

They should tack on some Renown reward for the kill quests.

They should boost RR gained across the board until RR40. I hate having the completel Annihilator set, be 5 levels over its rank requirements, but still need like days of miserable scenarios (or weeks of less miserable ORVR) ahead to use the damn thing.

I don't really want to do scenarios without a full group, random players suck too much. :(

And is that AoE dmg/heal your tier 4 master morale? I'm not familiar with any other tree outside of Judgement, but you sound like you're confession specc'd. If so, how's that working out for you?

Yes confession. I did it because soloing with judgment was getting me killed if I got attacked by 2 mobs at the same time. With Confession I can take 4-5 if I have the tactics. But I respecced to dragon gun since I hit 29 to play with it.

But with Dragon gun, BBoP, Sanctified Bullets you can self heal and AoE. The heal from it will be pretty significant if you hit a nice group. (BBoP ticks on anyone the dragon gun hits)

I will respec for damage, but for PvP and soloing, confession has seen my survivability go through the roof.
With the BBoP heal, and Parry/SoM I don't have to start potting when I get an add or 2.
I use Flowing accusations with the heal tactic so if I need, I can get some fast heals off.

Now, judgment is superior damage for group play. I'd also consider it for oRvR, or once I hit 40 and get all my tactic slots.

Also, Trial by Pain becomes fairly decent higher in the tree. It almost kills a mob my level with 5 Accusations. Usually just takes a Razor strike to finish them off. Also the double proc of Blessed Bullets is nice.

I personally think mixed inq/judgement is the way to go post 40. Heal cuts are a big deal, and inquisition gives them in spades. Judgement gives all the damage though. So I have Inq to Punish The False (50% incoming heal cut) and Judgement to BAL for the damage. Switch bullets depending on the target. It is far easier to tie up and/or kill healers with these skills than it was when I was relatively pure Judgement.

Interesting, maybe once I hit 40 I'll respec to Confession and give that a whirl for shits and grins, and see if I like it.

Judgement has been pretty good thus far. I just recently dropped Horstman's Damaging Speculum (sp), which reflects damage dealt to you for a certain amount of time, only because it was negligible in oRvR at t4. It was pretty good at melting mobs a rank or two over my level (32), though. In its place I picked up Burn Away Lies (the DoT with the back-loaded DPS), and have yet to try it out in RvR. It's pretty brutal against mobs though.

Tactics-wise, I use the 25% increased chance of Absolution critting, Brute strength, and Flowing accusations (I think). I mix and match though, depending on what I'm doing. Morale wise I usually run with severe nerve in any orvr, and the healing replacement in pve.

I picked up Judgement because it was geared towards anti-caster stuff, and casters are my main targets in rvr.

    *edit

Running an inq/judgement WH post 40 sounds...really damn interesting. I'm going to look into that when I log on tonight. I'm all about hitting the healers, so it looks like it'll be right up my alley.

If you run judgment get the 50% increased crit damage.

My original spec was going to be judge with the heal debuff from inq, then later after some RR get Burn away lies.

25% abso crit, 50% crit damage, flowing acc, brute force.

I'm only 29 now so I likely won't stay Confession for 40, but I need the survivability for solo questing and stuff so its working now. But dragon gun is pretty sweet, I may go judge/Inq or Tri spec, tactics from judgement for badass damage, Inq for healing debuff, and Confession for Sigil of Magnus.

So many options, I'm glad I have a lot of spare gold.

On a vaguely related note, since it sounds like most of our folks have finally hit T4, is there any reason that I shouldn't jump over to T4 to join ya'll (when everyone's rolling together, I mean)? Here's a big glass of WTF for your Friday -- EA Mythic and Blue Oyster Cult have teamed up to create a musical tribute to the "Dwarf Slayer" profession in Warhammer Online with a song titled "Kiss My Axe (While I Drink My Beer)". I didn't even know that members of Blue Oyster Cult were still alive, let alone still making music, but apparently the lead singer of the band, Eric Bloom, is a huge fan of video games and science fiction and fantasy novels, and is an active Warhammer Online player. Neat!

The candymancers are still highly active on Badlands and the guild is going very strong if you're interested in order. Otherwise, destro seems to be spread amongst Iron Rock, Dark Crag, and Phoenix Throne.

I'm not sure if you can move the characters to badlands or not, but just check your account page and the character transfers portion. I 'think' that they gave all of the forced-move characters a free anywhere transfer. I could be wrong through, so double check.

I'm sorry, but you guys had been farming us since release. Yes 1.2 broke the game in a multitude of ways that gave Order the better end of the deal, but i remember a couple months ago when the majority of threads involved "Order, why don't you fight? We're getting so bored we're ready to quit!" The pendulum swings both ways and I have a feeling 1.2.1 will have quite the impact.

So I played this when it first came out and decided to check back in on it. I was a candymancer back then, looking at my account it seems my characters were moved to a different server(Iron Rock). No idea where the heck everyone ended up on or if the guild is still active. Could I easily move my characters to... I guess badlands if I started again?

please don't. Badlands has enough order as it is. :|

I've seen no indication that order on badlands is overpopulated in the slightest by any metric in game or out.

If your characters were moved without your consent, you should have a free server transfer available in your account management. Log into your account management on mythic's website and select character transfer from the options. Make sure you read their instructions and warnings in the FAQ. When you transfer your character, everything will transfer but mail messages and auction items.

Bah. My first ever Fort raid and I win a gold bag. And since everyone was "IF YOU DIE RELEASE, NO RESSING" earlier I released just before the lord died, and couldn't get back in time.

[GOA] "At this time we are not reimbursing loot bags. We apologise for any inconveniences caused."

Yeah, screw you and your inconveniences. :|

So we're defending a keep, and someone runs around killing the attacker siege pads, making other people yell at him to stop. Why is that a bad thing?
