My third 360 just died from RRoD. Old refurb, always knew it was going to die some day. Been a good couple of years though.
It's out of warranty (obviously) and out of RRoD warranty too. But when I submit a repair request, it's saying there's no charge because it's in RRoD warranty.
Are they going to ring me up at some point and say 'oh hai, you owes us moneys?' because I can't really afford it right now. In a couple of months, sure, but not now.
Are you sure it's out of the warranty for the RRoD? From what I recall you pay up front, so if they don't charge you when you ship it out, I can't imagine they'll pursue you for it later.
My friend had a free out of warranty 360 repair this was years ago and he never heard anything about it. Don't know if he was lucky or if this is a universal rule but my guess is microsoft has so many of these things coming back they don't have the time or the energy to check the warranty status on every single one. Go for it.

This is in the UK, btw.
If the warranty center believes it's in warranty, it's in warranty. Also, with the oldest 360s out there being only four months out of the RRoD warranty, I find it hard to believe that your third console is.

Depends how long the first two lasted my second one was out of warranty when it broke but that's because the first lasted 4 hours. :P
