A friend of mine took a fall at a bar and twisted her knee. We took her to the hospital, no breaks, but they apparently can't check for any tears in the soft tissue until the swelling goes down. In the meantime, they put a knee brace on it to keep the leg constantly straight.
Basically, question revolves around if it can be taken off at all? Bathroom breaks will obviously be near impossible without taking it off to bend the knee, so I'm assuming it's acceptable if the circumstance warrents it?
i have dislocated my knee several times and i can say you can take it off.
however! do not put any pressure the leg just incase she has a more serious injury. A good alternative that i found for when i was sleeping (comfort wise) was a tight wrap with that brown medical cloth everyone seems to have.
