Tweenbots! (Not the kind that BusterK & fightinfilipino like)

Yes, Tweenbots!

title.jpg
Tweenbots are human-dependent robots that navigate the city with the help of pedestrians they encounter. Rolling at a constant speed, in a straight line, Tweenbots have a destination displayed on a flag, and rely on people they meet to read this flag and to aim them in the right direction to reach their goal.

Have you all seen this? It is so great! Heres a video of it in action:
http://blip.tv/play/AejAL5OoUw

Let's discuss how awesome tweenbots are!

Or if you know of any other social experiments that are neat, you could talk about them.

    Agreed.

I'd even feel awkward leaving it before it reached it's destination. I'd probably spend all day wondering if it needed my help again and feel like a jerk. :P

because this is new york, not baghdad.

also this park is right between NYU and lower east side and as such lots of fun things happen there all the time. tiny robots aren't really that out of the ordinary.

bostonians would establish a moving perimeter around the robot. when it happily reaches its destination, they'll open fire.

Okay, the link on her page

    The other robots

The one with 'Please call my family'

That's just freaky, especially if there's a motor to move the head.

I don't mind helping no lost robot get from A to B, but I'm not falling for that whole 'Help me find my family' trick again...

Well, have they put any out in Boston....

Seriously, though, unmanned unmonitored robots are something of a social security risk.

On top of that, I just see these things getting stolen.
