As has been foreseen and foretold amongst the disciples of Aradia, the Conception draws near.
When the sound of the revolving drum of Amala reverberates through the universe, the formation of Reasons will occur.
Those that were living will be reduced to souls of crimson, and where humanity once reigned, there will be only demons.
An unseen master will stand before the remnants of the world, and declare the Kotowari.
This will become the Law of the Creation of the world.
--From Book 4, Section 24 of the Miroku ScripturesShould you have the will to endure the end of civilization, yours is to be one of the souls that defies oblivion, and partakes of the conflict to rebuild the world anew.
If the prophecies do not speak falsely, then scribe your name as you see fit, and await the rebirth of the new from the ashes of old.
____________________
The end of the world as it is known draws near. From the ashes, the survivors will be the ones to determine how it is remade, or if it is remade at all.
This will be a factional Phalla, or mafia game, in which voting is used to mark players for elimination,
in addition to player actions commonly used behind the scenes.
There will be 40 players, open to adjustment if signup response deems it necessary.
(You may find
this thread helpful for additional info and rules.)
Each player will be assigned a role that will mark their alignment to one of the following factions.
Each of these factions is in possession of a
Reason, or their ideal vision of how the world should be remade.
FactionsYosuga: Might Makes Right
A faction based on the tenet of the superiority of the strong.
In a Yosuga society, the weak exist only to be destroyed or serve their betters.
A leader can only maintain rule so long as there is no one stronger to challenge him.
Should a challenge come to pass, the aftermath of failure is death.
Shijima: All Is One With The World
A faction which strives to bring the world into balance.
Everyone operates equally, and in harmony with the world.
Each person has their role, and continues acting in accordance with a continual, unchanging order.
Musubi: At The Center Of The World
A faction in which everyone is the center of their own universe.
The world of a Musubi practioner is that of isolation, and none but its creator can affect it.
It can be shaped as the sole occupant desires, without interference or consequence from the outside world.
Neutrality: To Each Their Own
Neutrality is everything as it once was. There is order, and there is chaos.
All are free to live their lives as they will. No one belief holds constant sway over another.
Neutral players are considered unaligned. They may shift their beliefs to that of a preexisting faction at any time, or strive to put the goals of the other factions to rest, and return the world to how it was before the Conception.
Destruction: Halting The Cycle Of Rebirth
There will be no Reason, no future. All conflicting Reasons will be exterminated, as will the higher power that continues the endless cycle of death and rebirth.
The path of Destruction is the path of demonic rule.
No higher power to ordain how the world will be remade.
The world remains in a constant state of darkness, left to the reign of demons, who will rule over the fallen land for all eternity.
There will also be other lesser factions or individuals out to seek their own ends.
The game will end when victory for opposing factions are impossible.
There can be no shared victory, only one faction will determine how the world is remade.
The only exception is in the case of Neutral-aligned players, who may shift their alignment to one of the above factions if so desired.
Such a choice, if taken, will be considered final, and will take immediate effect after that day's results.
While this is based upon 'Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne' as source material, do not consider it indicative of roles or gameplay mechanics. While some familiar roles may be in play, several were omitted, particularly the majority of named characters. This game will transpire in its own section of the Amala Universe, wherein anything can happen.
Familiarity with the source material is not required.

I was just about to make a Nocturne mini with this same set-up, as well. :P
I was both afraid and hoping for that, or maybe that it'd be based on a side story. :P

I used to play a variant of Phalla over at another forum, so i should be ok in playing this. ^_^
I am going to be destroyed
!Sign me the fuck up
You're going to get destroyed?
It's pretty much the only thing we have to go on Day 1.
Except it's nothing to go on at all, it's just a grudge.
I never grudge, because it's pointless! (That, and I've seen a game lost because of grudges on Day 1 killing multiple good specials.)
That said, if Kime comes out as a vigilante, kill him. He does more harm than good.
Frosteey's game was pretty complicated, how are you going to prove how awesome you are Blarney-bot?
Grudging is not pointless! It's the pinnacle of Phalla Society! And I'm an amazing vig! The best one around.
hrm, I'm not going to be able to kill ProfMoriarty. I like his theme :P.

*I sign up, liming some quote from pop culture.
*I get a role PM further cementing me as the Eternal Villager. If I am extraordinarily lucky, I might get to be a mason, but that's it.
*I will make a large amount of posts, among the largest amount among all contestants.
*The bad guys will not even bother knocking me out, because they are just waiting for the inevitable.
*At some point between Gamedays 3 and 5, I will come up with a cockamamie scheme that will immediately backfire.
*The bad guys nod, because the inevitable has happened.
*The village will vote me out because they assume that I have finally gotten my bad-guy role and just don't know how to be evil yet.
*I am revealed to once again have been the Eternal Villager.
*I make a death post that grows more and more frustrated with each passing game.
So... right oh, then. More cowbell and such.
^_^
CJ: Is this more of a traditional factional phalla, or some crazy shit where I need graph paper and a sextant? Because I can't handle the latter right now, as evidenced by my lack of participation in Frosteey's phalla. (Not insulting him, of course - it seems like a well put together game, but as I got sick, it's over my head at this point.)
Someone wants my head because of what I have done
Sadly, that game also had the largest number of players ever, so there are quite a few of them
Here Gumpy, here Gumpy.....
More traditional than not. There's the factions listed in the OP, some assorted individuals, a red vote, and special abilities.
Whoo a phalla!
So hey guys, how about we not vote out Kime in the first few days this time?
