no see I can pronounce wood, but every time I want to say ''would'' I try to pronounce the L as well and that fucks everything. I just dont think about how I should pronounce it and make the same mistake over and over again.
I'm actually on the track to getting my single subject teaching credential. So, high school and middle school English.
What I'm saying is that apparently I desire nothing more from life than for spiteful teenagers to hate me for no reason, all for pay that is terribly inadequate.
Pay? Inadequate? Not really. Popping 40k a year with benefits is pretty good (and I've seen teachers at an elementary school level making it up to 80k), and you get two months out of the year off.

plus whatever other recognized holidays
and if you can coach a sport or something the pay is a significant increase
i was informed that teaching would not be a good thing for me because apparently it's hard for them to get jobs or something?
and i'm like, what? it's a necessary fucking career here, folks.

What's the school policy on listening to metal during class?
I am not going to lie, the 2 months off a year is looking mighty tempting to me, and the benefits are not bad at all.
However for the amount of schooling required to become a teacher, the pay is not exactly stellar. Don't get me wrong, it's not like teachers are living in poverty. But compared to other jobs that require 5-6 years of schooling, teaching salaries are much lower.
I'm done with all of my history classes after this semester, I just need one more semester of some education courses and then a semester to student teach.
Then I'll need to take one more, just random spanish class and I'll be able to teach that as well. Of course I'd feel totally uncomfortable teaching anything more than intro-level spanish to HSers. Because fuck, I can get by, but I'm not that great with the language. I mean I've had like 6 college-level classes but I still struggle.
Thankfully most intro-level Spanish classes at a high school is just an extended vocabulary lesson.
gonna change my major to psychology whenever i meet the pre-req's which most likely won't be after next summer
gotta minor in something and take 6 - 14 hours of a foreign language. i would have to go the 14 hours cause i would have to take it from the beginning because there is no way in hell my hs spanish would pass a damn thing. i know just enough spanish to get into a fight. Yo coji tu madre!
but on the other hand, i still would like to be a teacher/coach.

it eats the ENTIRE word of "would", almost.
I love Wouldn't've
TWO CONTRACTIONS
TWO
you would not have
You'd'n't've
edit: now I have heard wouldn't've before, but you''nt've is like some sort of unnatural cancer.
Pretty much the same thing for ''though''.
Except with like 10th and 11th graders.
And in History and Spanish classes. Since that's what I'll be teaching.
blowing my mind
I want to be an english teacher.
I will not be an english teacher.
be an art teacher, probably at the high school level
I would really love to teach physics, but teaching is only a fallback so I ain't gonna spend my entire college career on it

Depends on who you're friends with and if you have your tenure.
