Do the iPhone people use their data allowance that much?
in Ireland the price plans are pretty shit, you get like 100 minutes and 100 texts, if I'm using the net on it I can get another 300 free texts a month but I'd be paying like €40 for 100 minutes/100 texts and 1gb of data and no matter how much more I pay it's still only 1gb and just more minutes and texts.
if I could jailbreak it, that'd be awesome but I'd still have to pay the 18 month contract with the provider.
How the fuck do you manage to link to the shittest quality photo of an iPhone that exists. I mean it's the iPhone, there are literally thousands of pictures of it and you manage to find the one shitty quality of the old fucking hardware?
The Helio Ocean is a Pantech phone. It's not bad, it's just nothing compared to say, the G1 or the iPhone. The busted speaker on mine is likely the result of me dropping it at some point, but it's lasted me two years with p good performance. Being able to load the web on my phone has saved me more than once. Oh, and it's GPS features have prevented me from getting lost quite a few times.
I don't understand why you'd want an iPhone without an unlimited data plan
I mean
why
Javen - Ours too! All the data plans in real places are unlimited, h5
the UK has it on O2 right? so does ireland and they're just shit and robbing bastards, this is the only thing that's stopping me from getting an iPhone, the shitty price plans.

I pay £35 a month for 600 mins and 500 texts with unlimited data. Does me fine. I never go over my allowances anyway.
I've got an HTC ("T-Mobile") G1, and I love the thing to death.
I'm going mad trying to wait patiently for T-Mobile's Cupcake push.

It's been so long since I've posted here, I've removed my signature since most of what I had here were broken links. Shows over, you can carry on to the next post.
some people have reported getting the Cupcake push already, although according to the information I'm given, it's not supposed to come out until "a later date"
I remember seeing somewhere a while back that someone was able to get an iphone to work on t-mobile. is that still the case?
we are switching to TM and I need to find a phone that I like. Don't know if I want to go the whole smartphone route. but think being able to get the data plan at a later date is a good plan
so initially thinking the behold, but the flippy blackberry pearl seems nice
the G1 is pretty fantastic, and the new Sidekick coming out looks crazy awesome
the BB pearl flip isn't bad either though
and yeah, a ton of people use iPhones on T-Mobile, you just have to jump through some hoops to get it unlocked, because Apple and AT&T won't unlock it for you

if you can somehow get ahold of a 3g iphone without a contract, you can probably jailbreak it and use it on t-moblie
other than that, the g2/magic/whatever is going to be an android phone from htc that might be out soon, basically a sleeker version of the g1, but lacking a physical keyboard
I like the idea of the G1, but honestly at this point I am not sure if the data plan is something I will really need. I am not a high volume phone user, but I am starting a new job soon where i will likely need to be more accessable and will be away from my computer so having the option for data management etc might be nice.
the fact that you need to have the data line for the G1 is kind of a negative right now.
The Samsung behold seems nice since it seems mainly a phone/texter/music player but if you add the data plan it woul dbe more of a smart phone
same kind of deal with the BB pearl flip, except its a flip not a touch, but it has wifi

No.

if you have the most current firmware, fuck, good luck, I've tried twice to no avail

Steam
I like it a lot.
key input is terrible slow and the video is automatically limited to 20 second videos
When my last phone was fucked, a coworker let me use her old Pantech for a week before I went down and got an iPhone.
That was pretty much the worst week of my life.
Mines been doing it on and off for a week or so and its getting really frustrating.
you should call tech support
Other than that its a pretty wonderful phone and I don't think I could ever go back to my old free flip phone.
Shazam is the best thing.

Its so slow compared to other phones I've played with and I'l lucky if it lasts a day. Got it when it came out cause I wanted an all-in-one toy.
This summer I plan on getting this
Mostly cause it has a keyboard but its also supposed to be a nice internet device. I really want the internet everywhere now.
that and ShopSavvy are the most useful applications ever
oh, and MovieFinder

Worst part at least 90% are with the same person.

2. Apple iPhone 3G (all models)
3. RIM BlackBerry Storm
4. RIM BlackBerry Pearl (all models, except flip)
5. T-Mobile G1

I AM VIBRATING WITH ANTICIPATION

yeah, if you don't think you'll use the data plan so much, the Behold is pretty nice and has pretty good capabilties for a "dumbphone"
sux cuz they prolly gonna be coming out with new ones in a month
also the palm pre looks pretty awesome but i dont really like sprint
