My bathroom got flip turned upside down
I'd like to take a minute just sit right there
To tell you how these
ants made me wanna pull out my hair...
So, bad rhymes aside.
Ants... coming out of an electrical socket and pillaging (possibly raping) my sink and/or counter.
This happened some time ago and I managed to rid them with a vigorous scrub down with a bottle of comet. It's not dirty by any means, just the normal occasional hair from shaving or toothpaste residue.
The weird part... if I turn on my faucet, ants fall in the sink. There is a mesh thingamabob(technical term) over the faucet so they can't be inside of it, I looked under it and they were kinda exploring there.
They also seem interested in the drain. Is it possible there is something nasty stuck in there and they are trying to get in? The only thing I have yet to do is draino the... drain.
I've rubbed down the socket with pungent cleaning chemicals in hopes it would deter them, but no such luck.
These are the only pests in my house, help me reclaim my dwelling! What can I do to rid them once and for all!
If it matters, it's on the 3rd floor, in florida, the ants are tiny and pitch black.

Usually, I just find where they're coming in, spray it, and that's that. I wouldn't be so hot on spraying a live electrical outlet though. If they're sneaking in through that box, you could pull the cover off and seal it up with some caulk or something wherever they're sneaking in (cut the power first, just because it's a good idea).
Ant traps never work for me.
Of course I wouldn't spray it directly, I just wet some poopaper with a shit load of the formula 409 and showed them who was boss.
If I caulk it wouldn't they just find another, possibly more inconvenient location? or would it just drive them to my neighbors
On a good note, I finally found Guinness 250!!
Bug spray may work better, especially if you get it where they're coming in. It'll sit around and deter them for a bit. Honestly, once they can't get in that way, they'll do what you're saying anyways (move on to somewhere else, either in your place or another). I've had good luck with just closing off that entry point/ killing the invaders. I've never had to call a pest ocntrol company or anything.
Good luck in your ant slaughter.
Give up with the household cleaners and get some real ant spray. Flip the breaker for that outlet, grab a flashlight, pull the plate and liberally spray inside and around the outlet, wouldn't hurt to hit the baseboards of the bathroom and then go outside and either spray around the house really well or get those granules and pour a nice border of those around the house and water them down (follow directions).
Most likely they are already living in the walls/foundation but it can't hurt to prevent reinforcements from joining the engagement.
When it comes to this time of year and ants, take whatever measures you think are enough and then double it.
It was great, they were in my bedroom, and I had just finished reading sandkings when they appeared. I couldn't sleep due to the creepiness factor.

I think that's mice.
Honestly, you should probably just call an exterminator. They'll spray your bathroom and be able to guess where the ants might head next and spray there as well. It'll cost more than a household remedy, but it will be done with.
I would also explore your drain pipe, just in case the something tasty is something nasty.
