What was this old DOS Shareware game?

I don't know the name of it, this was over 10 years ago. I had a CD with a bunch of old DOS shareware games bundled in. One of the game was a colorful Zelda-like game. It was a top-down perspective, you play as a boy walking around villages and I think you shoot out magic sparks with your wand. I've spent hours searching Google for the name of this game and it's been killing me! Does anyone know this game? Thanks for any help

    Yes! I think it's God of Thunder! Wow, thanks so much. I seriously stayed up till 3am last night trying to find out what this game was called. Thanks guys.

    God of thunder was brilliant. I had a shareware copy that came with my Duke 3D budget copy. Came with full versions of Duke 1+2 as well.

    Man fuck that eye thing, you had to run past the boulder at just the right time or you'd get that death noise.

    Oh how many times I heard that death noise.

    Man, I remember back in the day (before the internet) I used to log onto various BBS's and download shareware games. It was all the rage. Oh, and I played the hell out of BBS muds like LORD, Userper, Planets, Trade Wars, and Food Fight.
