So, headphones

It was these kind. Skullcandy headphones are pretty okay, but they seem kinda fragile, and I was wondering if any of you audiophiles had some advice. Ideally, advice that costs less than fifty dollars to purchase.
Yeah, Skullcandy does seem like style over substance.

Also, synth is pretty correct. Skullcandy has decent sound quality and stuff but everyone I know that has had a skullcandy product has had to replace it at least once, and since I can't find my warranty information I'm pretty fucked.
I had sennheiser buds. They were great and lasted me about 4 years or so. All the plastic and paint was wearing off but they were still good til I dropped the player for the millionth time. Unfortunately this time, the wires in the socket came loose.
I've owned both the Koss PortaPros and the Sennheiser PX 100 in the past and was happy with both. they're both on sale at amazon right now, too. they're good if you want portability, but they're gonna leak sound like crazy, so be aware of that.

Also I much prefer around-ear headphones. Earbuds bug me. What about you guys?
I have a pair of these from a previous headphone thread. Had em about a year and they're still going strong. Love them.
Depending on the device, they're also good enough quality to work as speakers. If I was listening to a podcast when going to bed, I'd just take them off, turn the volume up, and hook them around my lamp. Seriously good unit.

i got a pair of audio technica ath-on3 because they look slick as shit
mines white though, with orange pad
they sound pretty decent too but i dont wanna test the strength of the headband by chucking them at the bottom of my bag and stacking books on top
its basically as thick as your normal basic headphone cables, but as a metal band
so when ive worn them its usually just around my neck all day but barely notice it
they are light as fuck so comfortable to wear too. because i wear glasses most headphones get shitty to wear after a while
really cheap too
anyone heard of some chinese brand called yuin?
ive heard very good things about their earphones
they are fairly cheap and apparently sound pretty fantastic

I can't wear supraural headphones cause I've got a big head and they crush my ears inward so they hurt bad after 15 minutes of listening.
Same reason I can't wear buds.
Basically if I can't wear the headphones for 8 hours straight without my ears hurting at all, I'm not interested.

good stuff
I've heard good things about these as sub-$50 headphones
I dunno about the "DJs" tag they've got, but my friend likes his pair and I trust his opinions

Delicious.

Pretty good sound quality, but impossible to fit in your pocket wrapped around your iPod.
I thought that would be an obstacle for me, but mine are just perpetually hooked around my neck. It's become somewhat of a thing.

Look funky, I'd get 'em in a heartbeat based on cnet's review.
They're called Zumreed Dream somethingorothers
Might seem like style over substance but audio quality is surprisingly good
Got them last fall for thirty bucks and free shipping off NewEgg
They are pretty much the best thing.
Also some Sennheisers for the computer/turntable (if I ever get one)
they are overpriced to the max
