So hopefully this game won't have some sort of Triti-equivalent.

That damn thing was the death of many a patent for me.

Triti is freaking easy if you can easily identify patterns in an irregular system.

Hell, I cheated on Triti the first time, and it took me like an hour to kill the stupid thing

Edit: After watching the video: You bastards had it easy on the Wii version, on the DS you had to remove thorn, cut tissue off, then forceps it away, which takes longer, and give it more time to regenerate

Ah, that makes sense. If only the game didn't do a terrible job of explaining this to the player.

Goddamit, another Trauma Center game I can't play. I've loved the DS ones, but I've never been able to play a Wii one.

It's been a while since info has been posted.

    From a recent preview:
Trauma Team has been redesigned from the ground-up to shed the series’ image of being completely inaccessible. Not only are the instructions clearer this time around, icons will pop up throughout operations hinting at which tool to whip out next. The vitals bar will also flash to tell you when to start pumping stabilizer into the patient.

Additionally, while surgery and the first-response missions are carefully-timed affairs where every second matters, some of the other missions won’t have time limits at all. In some of these, like endoscopy, you’ll still have to keep an eye on the patient’s vital signs. Others, like orthopedic surgery, will display a number of mistakes that you are allowed to make (in the form of heart-shaped icons).

An unlockable hard difficulty (easy and medium difficulties will be open from the start).

Each doctor’s story is independent of the others; however, as they all exist in the same ecosystem, there will be some overlap as their plots progress.

Right now, there are roughly forty operations in the game (this may change later in development), so you’ll progress through six or seven operations of each type.

Naomi a forensic specialist, her levels are more akin to a first-person adventure game similar to the Phoenix Wright series.

More realistic approach this time. Some of the futuristic medical equipment will still be there, but the “healing touch” is gone.

Endoscopy operations can be dangerous, and they require a high level of finesse and precision. These missions are less about the race-against-the-clock and more about maneuvering through the tubes and pathways that make up the body. The IR pointer is used extensively, and the developers claim that they’ve achieved 1-1 movement without the MotionPlus add-on.

Trauma Team will also feature the return of the co-operative multiplayer from New Blood. You’ll be able to tackle most of the gameplay types with a partner; one notable exception being the forensics operations, which are single-player only.

Trauma Team is currently scheduled for release in the “Spring” of 2010. We couldn't get anything more specific out of them.

And here's a Trauma Team gameplay video on surgery!

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3NamSBZYwNM

Looks like it'll be the first of a series of vids covering all the different gameplay types:

The diagnosis doctor is probably one of these extremely smart reclusive people like House. The surgery doctor is going to be like a scalpel jockey like they make surgeons out to be in Scrubs.

I am of course kidding and don't really know what the plans are for these doctors' respective personalities but I shall nonetheless analogize them to medical comedies/dramas.

With Second Opinion half of the patients had Scrubs references in the name. I wonder if this was the case in Japanese?

I mean, did the developers intend that or was it the translators?

I meant her personality. She has a gothic/emo style of appearance, but her character in the show is upbeat, albeit quirky, but not emo in that 'i'm so depressed pity me' kind of way.

Yeah, according to wiki she will make a return. What was her deal again, she was kinda evil, but sorta good too? I really should finish Second Opinion one of these days. Hell, I should also finish New Blood one of these days!

Also, she has gotten more emo:

Oops, for some reason I read that and forgot it.

Have they done a Trauma Center game yet where things didn't devolve into some sort of bio-terrorism or bio-conspiracies? I only played the first game. Twice. Once on the DS and once on the Wii.

Nozomi Weaver/Naomi Kimishima (she'll be using the latter name in this game the former was an alias, I believe) was the person you played most of the extra missions, yes.

If this game wants to be more accessable, then more power to it, but hard mode being locked annoys me, since I hopped into New Blood on Hard and had a great time.

The Trauma Center games' plots were centered around fighting bio-terrorism. So no. TC2 and New Blood both had you fighting this stuff, the plots are somewhat interconnected. It's the same "universe" or whatever you want to call it :P

But! I love the over the top ridiculousness of the TC games and I'm glad for the Guilt and its crazy strains and what have you because it kept things interesting.

I'm all for taking things in a fresh new direction with Trauma Team though. Sequels that refine the original formula are great but taking things in a new direction is good for variety!

There was a comment by the developers that they have achieved 1:1 motion control in one of the modes without Wii Motion+ so I'm going to say that it's not supporting it.

By that they probably meant that the IR pointer does all it needs to do. If they use motion controls it'll probably be in a limited manner like in the previous TC wii games. Which doesn't really require 1:1 anyway. Seriously what could they possibly need the M+ for? The pointer is the main deal and that's never been an issue.

Yeah, the controls were pretty tight, I doubt M+ will be needed.

Except for the healing touch star. I would actually force myself to slow my movements down so that I could carefully draw it, and the game would always go "You call that a star? Philistine."

That being said, I will miss the strategy and pressure involved with timing the HT just right. I hope this game doesn't get too serious, the insanity was part of the charm.

Which is why I said I'm going to miss the effect itself :P

As for drawing the star, it may be the fact that I started playing through several co-op levels of New Blood with a mate recently after a bit of a hiatus, so I was a bit rusty. I still say the games are picky, when I say slowed down, I mean I did precise half-second lines and still nothing.
