Not many a blockbuster this month. Do you plan on checking anything out?

but hey, every so often you gotta release some dog shit.

I'm interested in Pelham, Year One, The Stoning of Soraya M... and as much as it shames me to admit it, I guess I won't complain if someone chloroforms me, drags me into the theater, and I happen to wake up and see some Transformers punching each other.

Saw an early screen of the Hangover on Monday, and I fucking loved it. And if there's any justice to this world, this will be one of the better grossing movies from the summer.

As for Zach, he steals the movie, just like Will Ferrel stole it in Old School.

Hopefully the dearth of content in the trailers for Year One mean the comedy is so inappropriate they can't show any of it on TV. Whatever the case, I'm willing to cut Harold Ramis slack. You don't make Caddyshack, Ghostbusters, SCTV, and Groundhog Day and not get a couple of free passes.

I'm hearing nothing but good things for both Moon and The Hangover. Even though it's summer, it doesn't have to be a blockbuster to count. Go see them just because you might get to see a good movie for once.

And there should be a law against Nia Vardolos. As The Onion already mentioned, the fact that she has an Academy Award nomination and Harold Ramis doesn't should have been on Obama's first-100 days list of things to undo. Get to the Gitmo thing whenever.

Transformers I'll be seeing, and I don't care what anyone says, it's going to be awesome. MICHAEL BAYSPLOSIONS style.

I'm not really a big fan of John Travolta, but I don't hate him either and I like Denzel Washington so if it gets a half decent review I might see Pelham 123

Also, I know it makes me a serious wuss, but the trailer for My Sister's Keeper breaks my heart.

I think it might end up being a bit better than The Notebook as well since the story itself is better.I don't understand why everyone went ga ga over the Notebook when it was just the same story about choosing love over wealth, but with a slightly more interesting framing device.

I did not see the notebook and I don't plan on seeing My Sister's Keeper. Nor do I plan on seeing The Stoning of Soraya M.

A good plot/story is always important, but in my mind:
A comedy and it's actually funny? Great!
An action/explosion movie with sweet action/explosions? Great!
A sad depressing movie that is really sad? um...so what?

Sad movies have to be that much better than other movies, because simply being good at being sad is not enough.

Needless to say I have no desire to see the sequel. I wish GI Joe didn't give me a sinking feeling that it will be the same (what the hell is with the power armor?).

I watched it and it was OK at best but beating TDK? TDK which broke records and beat Spider-Mans record? Transformers was never that good, Ive not even noticed the hype but this is what analysts thing (It apparently has a head start from a wednesday, TDK started friday or something) but this CANNOT happen.

Or it will mean more army related transformer sequels featuring the hot piece and unrecognisable hunks of metal hurling themselves at each other.
