Forza Motorsport 3 - Release: 10/27/09 (US) | Demo OUT NOW [on X360]
FM2 had some deformation going on, but it mostly only showed up on the front and rear bumpers. The game didn't model chassis damage.
I'm indifferent towards it. I guess it would be neat to have realistic frame damage, but considering damage that severe generally means the car can't move anymore, it really puts a damper on doing what the game was built to do: race.
I remember how in Carmageddon it actually affected how your car handled, because it was all physics based. If your tires were in awkward positions you'd handle according to them.

Forza really only implements it by putting pull on your steering.. if the left front tire gets fucked up, the car will pull in that direction.
Is one of those situations where playing with a wheel is an advantage.. yes you have to spend the rest of the race with the wheel turned, but you have an easier time of it than people using thumbsticks.
Uuhhhh yeah, throwing burnout physics into "Turn 10 forza game" completely obliterates it being a "Turn 10 forza game".
TDU scale
Forza physics Twisted fucking Metal weapons
Fixed.
I'd be all over it like stink on shit, man...I've wanted a new TM game (one that doesn't suck) for a while now...Black was decent, but none of them have lived up to TM2, imo.
If they start working on new franchises, I'd really like to see Turn 10 make an attempt at a motorbike simulator.
The genre has been languishing for quite a while now, the last decent MotoGP game came out on the original xbox. If anyone could do a proper job of it.. I'd say it would be Turn 10.

Also, Newegg has the preorder for $53 (FS), if anyone hasn't preordered yet.
Just preordered it thanks to your tip. :^:
I'm sick of waiting for GT5, I want my Racing Sim fix now damn it! :x

It's been so long since I've posted here, I've removed my signature since most of what I had here were broken links. Shows over, you can carry on to the next post.

I don't think it would look that good. That was my original plan, but I haven't come up with a good design yet. Maybe when I can actually riff with the editor, I'll do better.

But oh so rewarding once you got rid of bad 4-wheel habits
I'd actually like to see a game from these guys where they apply their hyper-realistic physics skills to rallying. All the major racing sims that I know of only really bother to model tarmac, and all the rally games I know of are kinda arcade-ish (still fun, of course, but not the same thing).

I'd think it'd be a good test of how good their sim really is.. if they do nothing but make the road bumpy and reduce traction, and the car still performs realistically.. I'd say that means they have a pretty awesome simulator.
Means all they'd have to do is model some new tire types.
I have always wanted a game that had Forza quality driving, but also first person shooter action so you could have car chases where your buddy is trying to shoot up the other car while kareening through a city. APB looks to deliver somewhat, but I am sure the car physics will be stupid and the gunplay will be third person.

Ever try Richard Burns Rally? That was a fairly realistic one, and a damn good game besides.
I never owned a dirt game but the demo for the first one seemed pretty good...but it lacks multiplayer and that bothered me. The demo for the second one though seemed terrible.
The first DiRT wasn't realsitic really, but was damn fun. It had a good fun drving model and some lovely tracks - I never expected to like that game so much.

I used to enjoy Sega Rally Championship on my old Saturn. If anyone can recall, how was that one in terms of realism?

Richard Burns Rally is definitely the best rally game ever.
it had the about customization of forza, but you could strap naval cannons to the top of your 'vette
I have mad love for it. I have my Interstate '76 dual-disc jewel case for Windows 95
Man, that was one of my favorite games of all time for a while. One of the first games I ever played online and downloaded add-ons for (some dudes made a few crazy-ass stunt tracks). And the soundtrack was amazing, though it took me a while to realize how much of it was The Jimmy Hart Version of some classic funk singles. Exhibit A:
GodDAMN, a current-gen Interstate '76 would be amazing, though they'd either have to reboot or jump ahead chronologically and make Interstate '94 or something.

if turn 10 made a game like interstate '76, that would be so awesome
TDU open world + Turn 10 Forza game + Burnout crash physics =
What's that? When you nudge someone's door they explode in a fireball and turn into a crumpled aluminum can?
Yeah, no thanks.
Before they released thier big game overhaul, yea it was just like that.
Oh shit! Whats that! A curb? CAR EXPLODES!
It's somewhat better now, but not perfect. At least it's playable, before I actually put it back on the shelf in disgust.
TDU scale
Forza physics
Quarantine/Full Auto weapons
Like I said, the cars bend and twist according to where and how hard you hit them. Looks really nice.

edit - they even had some of it in FM1.

That's the only PS2 game I ever played, it was pretty great.
I never played TT, but yeah - heard it was tuff
no love for interstate '76 huh?

This is my favorite livery so far.
It also took my best idea.

This generation of consoles is really missing a good rally racer, DiRT just isn't cutting it in picking up the slack. We need a return of RSC.
